”One day a little blue alien (a puppet) arrives to school. He comes from a galaxy far, far away and he only speaks “Nice To Meet You!” , for this the children call him Ni.To.Me.Yo. The children want to be his friends, they learn about their country and culture through food and songs, celebrations and tales…

NitomeYo in Europe « Children Multicultural cooking book »

“One day a little blue alien (a puppet) arrives to school. He comes from a galaxy far, far away and he only speaks “Nice to meet you” , for this the children call him Nitomeyo. The children want to be his friend, they

learn about their country and culture through foods…..”

In Europe we are different, we eat some different cook and we eat all flour and rice . This diversity is a wealth that we want discover and share with children , teachers and parents.

SEARCH FOR RECIPES

Each family found a recipe with rice or flour. At school we selected all recipes with children and we choose together some recipes. We search in some cooking book or with internet.

COOK WORKSHOP

During 2 afternoons we organized cooking workshop with children, parents end teacher. All school cooked together .

COOKING BOOK

For the cultural cooking book we prepare :

-Flag of our country -Recipe with rice or flour -Photos of cook workshop with children -Photos of ingredients -Draws of instruction for realize the recipe -Facts of the recipe

Paint some cake .

Work with children :

-Vocabulary : discover some words about cooking , about ingredients, about cook utensil… -Read recipe -Langage : tell with their words the recipe -Structuration of time : range in order the steps of the recipe with image -Work together -Discover what is flour and rice
