Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)FAQs for Model Administrators PUBLIC 7

Page 8: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) - help.sap.com

Can I apply rules used in SAP Business Rules service to GTT models?

No, rules (which are called the Event to Action script in the MM app) used for GTT models must be created and activated in the MM app. Rules that have been defined or deployed in SAP Business Rules service are not supported in GTT Version 2 models.

Where can I maintain the recipient, the sender, and reply details for email notifications?

You can maintain the recipient in two ways:

● First go to the Manage Notification Templates app to choose system-defined /application-defined placeholders or define user-defined placeholders in the Recipients field, and then go to the Manage Models app to set the value of placeholders in the Event to Action script.

● Or go to the Manage Models app to directly define a Recipient value in the recipients payload in the Event to Action script.

You cannot maintain the sender. The sender is the system email address of SAP Logistics Business Network.

You can maintain the reply details (the email subject and body) in the Manage Notification Templates app.

For more, see in Reminder Service for Verison 2 and in Administration Guide for Version 2.

Why can’t I deploy a model?

If you can’t deploy a model, a model validation error or technical communication error will pop up. You can check the detailed error message and what you should do in the History view of the model.

What does correlation level mean?

Correlation level:

● is the level of event correlation propagation between tracked processes within a model● is specified as an integer from 1 to 5

Each tracked process has a list of observed tracked processes. You can add a tracked process to the observed tracked process list by the process creation/update event or by some other actual events.

For example, suppose tracked process A observes tracked process B and tracked process B observes tracked process C.

● If the model is configured to have 1 level of correlation, then events reported to tracked process C are also correlated to B.

● If the model is configured to have 2 levels of correlation, then events reported to tracked process C are also correlated to both tracked processes A and B.

● And so on.

3.1 View Logs (VL) app

Here you will find some frequently asked questions about the VL app.

What does the VL app enable me to do?

This app allows you to have an at-a-glance overview of the available logs and their statuses, based on the data from the following three apps: Manage Message Logs (MML), Manage Event Logs (MEL), and Manage Integration Logs (MIL).

How can I navigate to the MML, MEL, and MIL apps from the VL app?

There are three ways:

● You can click the header tile of the Message Log View, Event Log View, and Integration Log View cards.● You can click the corresponding link in the Quick Links card.● If you want to see the messages or events or integration logs with a specific type of status or error message

(in the case of events), you can click the corresponding color-coded block in the donut chart or bar chart (in the case of events).

Can I resize or rearrange the log view cards and the Quick Links card?

Yes. You can customize your view by dragging and dropping these four cards to the places you want. To resize the card, move your cursor to the bottom right corner of the card to see an Enlarge icon, then drag the card to the size you want.

What does the status Pending mean?

The status Pending means that the message processing is not finished. You need to wait and refresh the Message Details page for the result.

What does the status Not Relevant mean?

The status Not Relevant means that the event is correlated with the observing tracked process but does not match any admissible planned or unplanned events.

For example, suppose that the tracked process “Delivery” observes the tracked process “Shipment”.

When the event “Geolocation Update” is correlated with the tracked process “Delivery” but there is no admissible planned or unplanned events designed for this event, the status of this event then becomes “Not Relevant”.

3.2 Manage Message Logs (MML) app

Here you will find some frequently asked questions about the MML app.

What does the MML app enable me to do?This app allows assigned users to view all the technical logs for all the message data, phase by phase and, if necessary, retrigger certain events or their correlations for the message. The tasks associated with this app include the following:

● Displays a list of all the messages used to update a process or for business actual event reporting● Displays log details for each message including its process flow and payload● Displays log details for each event including its process history and payload● Displays log details for each correlation about its process history, phase by phase● Enables historical events and correlations, within a retention period, to be retriggered.

How does the MML app receive the external source types? SAP ERP messages are sent with the predefined support of IDOC adapter. Visibility Provider messages are sent with the Visibility Provider adapter. The other external messages need to call the write service directly.

What is the Tracking ID? The Tracking ID, which is parsed from the message payload, refers to the tracked process ID.

What is the Message No.?The Message No. is the message identification number given by the source system.

What is the Source ID? The Source ID is the source system ID identified by the global track and trace option or the LBN ID of the visibility provider.

What does the source type Internal mean? Internal indicates that the message is generated by the global track and trace option.

What does the Event Type mean? The type of events that the message creates, such as the process update event, process deletion event, and actual business event.

What does the Retention button enable me to do?

You can use it to control the log volume by setting the retention period. The default and maximum period is 30 days.

What does the Retrigger button enable me to do?

The Retrigger button allows you to retrigger a selected process event, actual event or correlation, but not including an overdue event type.

Retriggering:

● reprocesses the selected item from phase one to the last phase● allows you to fix an error then retrigger the item with the error and in so doing, clear the error● generates a new entry in the Process History tab on the Event Details page or Correlation Details page

Note that if you retrigger an event on the Event Details page, it will restart all its following correlations.

If you retrigger a correlation on the Correlation Details page, it will only restart the selected correlation.

3.3 Manage Integration Logs App

Are you a solution owner or a data contributor with a question about your Manage Integration Logs app? If so, take a look at these FAQs.

One of the messages had a Failed status. Can I reprocess this message?

Yes, after you solve the configuration or syntax issues pertaining to that business document, you can choose to reprocess this message. The system revaluates the status of the entries in this tab and based on the feedback from SAP Cloud Integration, the messages may or may not move to other statuses.

After I reprocessed a message, I am not able to view the log. Why?

When you reprocess a message with the status Failed or Escalated, the system clears the old log and creates a new log. Hence when the message is reprocessing or after the message has been successfully reprocessed, you may not be able to view the log.

The system does not fetch any results when I search based on the Correlation ID from the filter bar. Why?

The system does not allow you to search and filter results using the correlation ID only in the Submitted for Reprocessing tab as this is a temporary status for the message.

to be retriggered● Enables the setup of rules to retrigger certain events and correlations automatically.

What does the Auto Retrigger Rules button enable me to do?It allows you to set up rules to retrigger certain events and event correlations automatically.

How often does the system run my auto retrigger rule? After you activate the rule, the system will filter the events and event correlations based on the rule and retrigger them every five minutes.

NoteSome FAQs for the MML app also apply to the MEL app. For more, see Manage Message Logs (MML) app [page 14].
