LIFEFLIGHT is a world leader in aeromedical care and Australia’s most diversified service with both a fixed and rotary wing fleet.

We help seriously ill and injured patients around Australia and the world to quickly get the medical care they need.

From rapid response, to inter-facility transfers our team of more than 400 staff members, including aviation crew, support staff, and over 100 doctors are a lifeline to vulnerable individuals.

Across Australia LifeFlight doctors attend to more than 10 patients a day.

As a leading Australian charity we operate 12 rescue helicopters and three air ambulance jets across 11 locations. Seven of these are LifeFlight’s own aeromedical bases.

We supply doctors and nurses to all Queensland-based rescue helicopters, the iconic Royal Flying Doctors aircraft as well as road ambulance services.

Our staff are specially trained in pre-hospital retrieval medicine through our internationally recognised training academy.

LifeFlight has flown 44,000 critical rescue mission over the past 35 years

We serve both the community and industry clients, operating a charitable service and ‘profit for purpose’ commercial enterprises that helps fund our charitable activity.

Surplus profit from our social enterprises are used to make sure our community helicopters remain on standby 24 hours a day, everyday of the year.

BECAUSE of the success and support shown to the South East Qld Expo in 2017 the Rotary Club of Jimboomba was able to provide further funding for more upgrade works to be carried out to our local community owned hall.

Over the previous three years the Rotary Club replaced all the toilets and added a disabled toilet, upgraded all of the plumbing and installed new steps to all outside entries.

Cost approx. $70,000.00 with support of a gaming grant of $35,000. All of this work was carried out using local contractors and suitably qualified Rotary members.

This time Jimboomba Rotary has partnered with Your Town through a Skilling Queenslanders for Work Grant which was able to allow eight (8) local unemployed youth the opportunity to gain skills and receive a certificate 1 in construction, A WIN -WIN situation.

The Rotary Club provided the funding for all the materials used for the construction ($24,000.00) along with a contribution from the Quota Club of Jimboomba.

The work this time included

preparation and the painting, both inside and out, the old bar area has been turned into a storage area, a new bar built (very important) and a new much wider, safer entry constructed in keeping with the period that the hall was built.

The works were completed over a five month period and were very ably supervised, instructed and mentored by Your Town supervisor Dave Parkin.

The work gave the participants an opportunity to develop not only construction skills but life skills as well such as reliability, punctuality, taking direction and working

together towards a common goal. Two of the participants picked

up employment even before completion and others had interviews organised immediately upon completion of the project.

The effectiveness of the project is certainly shown by the flow on effect this program will have not only on the lives of the participants but the community as a whole.

The next project for the hall is to install air conditioning which in turn will open up more opportunities for organisations and events to hire the venue in comfort all year round.
