The Key Worker / Vulnerable children bubbles will continue for Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 until Thursday 11th March. IMPORTANT DATES A Message from the Governing Board The Governing Board met this week to reflect on the experience of remote learning during the Spring term. We discussed the ways in which the school will be monitoring the children's progress and giving extra help to those who need it, as well as the school's plans for a safe reopening next month. We also reviewed the school’s approach to safeguarding the children and heard from Mr Bulpitt about the ways in which this work has been maintained throughout the lockdown. We would like to pass on our appreciation for the hard work that all of the staff (Assistant Headteachers, class teachers, teaching assistants, admin team, cleaners, midday meal supervisors) have done during lockdown, and to the wider school community (including parents) in maintaining Holbeach's strong sense of care and community throughout this challenging time. World Book Day Next Thursday we hope that you will join us at Holbeach in celebrating stories, language and books in general. If you would like to spend the day dressed as your favourite character or author then send us a photograph of you doing so. However, please note that you are NOT expected to buy anything new. Home-made costumes are always the best costumes. On the day, we will be having a special assembly and the teachers are planning a fun-packed day of different activities focused on books, including some live online events. Importance of Sleep An increasing number of parents have shared their concerns with the school about the fact that they have noticed a change in their child’s sleep pattern during the National Lockdown. Quality sleep is essential for children’s growth and development. A decent night’s sleep will help them to do better at school, allow them to react more quickly to situations, have a more developed memory, learn more effectively and solve problems, plus it will make them less susceptible to colds and other minor ailments, less irritable and better behaved. This website: www.thesleepcharity.org.uk/information- support/children/ is a good place to start if you are looking for advice or support with creating a helpful environment for sleep or for relaxation tips. On page 2 of this newsletter there is also some advice around creating a healthy bedtime routine. Messages of Love Well done to everyone at Holbeach who contributed to the latest live exhibition from the artist Giuseppe Grossi on Rushey Green. The children were asked to draw or write on the theme of LOVE. Love for a person, for family, friends, for people far away. Love for animals, for the sky, for anything precious, for anything that they love. Grossi then exhibited the children’s creations from the trees on the green. Thank you to Mrs Carnell for organising this for the school.

A Message from the Governing Board

The Governing Board met this week to reflect on the experience of remote learning during the Spring term. We discussed the ways in which the school will be monitoring the children's progress and giving extra help to those who need it, as well as the school's plans for a safe reopening next month. Home-made costumes are always the best costumes. On the day, we will be having a special assembly and the teachers are planning a fun-packed day of different activities focused on books, including some live online events.
