DARCIE JOHNSTON (VOCALS)... performed in jazz clubs, festivals, concert halls, and seedy bars in the Washington, DC, area for more than 20 years before moving to Madison. Back in her capitol days, she was also featured on the radio pro- gram “Music Americana” and played the role of jazz singer Madeline HiRose in the movie Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing. Bucky Pizzarelli, Chuck Redd, and Keter Betts are among the many gifted musicians she’s had the pleasure to play with—a list that now includes Madison’s Cliff Frederiksen and Michael BB. This is her first gig with Doug, and she’s looking forward to the comedy as well as the music. DOUG BROWN (GUITAR)... a native of Madison, cut his teeth banging on his mother’s piano, denting his dad’s trumpet, and emulating his musical older siblings and neighbors.
