|The Riverfest Operating Committee would like to recognize Mr. Bob Browning and his contributions over the
many years to the community of Farmington and beyond. His many actions have set an example of true community spirit. Browning Ranch has hosted equine-centered experiences for youth, working with state entities to house, train and adopt wild horses of New Mexico, and more recently worked with the Foundation to allocate over 80 acres of land for everyone to enjoy when it will be integrated into the River Trail System. the beautiful Animas River! Roll through Class I and II rapids and splash through one wet Class III. This fun rafting trip takes you from the Animas Park Landing to Boyd Park Landing near Miller Street Bridge. Rafts will run every 30 mins starting 10am. Meet your guides at the put-in at the very east end of Animas Park off of Browning Parkway. Tickets are available for purchase at the put in the day of events and also online prior to events – we suggest you reserve your ticket before festivities begin to save your seat at the time that you’d like to raft!
After the ride a shuttle will take you back to Animas Park Landing. An additional shuttle will be looping from Animas Park to the main parking lot at Berg Park-off of San Juan Boulevard. The River Reach Foundation & Fore! Corners Disc Golf partner for this Sanctioned PDGA Event in the Berg and Animas Parks, Farmington NM. Disc Golf Tournament: Saturday: all day, Animas Parklands Tournament Central is at Rocky Reach Landing. 2 rounds, 18 holes. This is a temporary disc golf course. The tournament will be played with portable baskets, so please bring your portable baskets if you have them. Registration-day of up to Tee. Herbs & Xeriscape Garden Tour Riverside Gardens | Animas Park, Sat 10am and 3pm.
Sunday 2pm. Learn about native and non-native plants which grow with very little water, are attractive to hummingbirds and butterflies, and have many household uses. Traditional lore and tasty recipes too. Garden is on trail west of Riverside Nature Center. Look for Park Liaison. Stop in the Nature Center for wildlife viewing, information, and a little shopping.
Yoga Flow Class Riverside Nature Center Gardens Sat 9:45-10:30am. Go with the
Flow at Riverfest with our very first Yoga Class! This all-level class will be instructed by Emily Faulkner. Class will take place on the S-Shaped grass in the Garden Area near Riverside Nature Center. Closest parking near Animas Park off of Browning Parkway, walk to Red Barn and into garden area. K-9 Demonstration The Arena @ River Reach Terrace, Sat 4pm. Field
Demonstration. The Farmington Police Department K-9 Unit is a specialized divi-sion of the Farmington Police Department consisting of four dog-handler teams. The focus of the K-9 Unit is to reduce the number of man-hours spent on calls and increase the safety of officer involved calls in unknown circumstances. See the FPD K9s in action as they conduct a field demonstration. Officers and their K9s will be available for a meet and greet immediately following the demonstration. K-9 teams respond to violent calls, building searches related to alarms or reports of forced en-try, fleeing subjects, searches for missing persons, and other calls where officers may be going into unknown circumstances. Hosted by the Farmington Police De-partment.
