Be Ye Transformed seeks to empower young adults and the young at heart to go beyond the walls of their church and congregation and affect change here in Southern Arizona and beyond. An unprecedented concert line-up featuring gospel recording artists Zacardi Cortez and Dansiea Morris will set the atmosphere for praise and worship followed by worship services with Elder Wayne Richards, Jr. and Minister Carl Baines. One of the most talked about voices in gospel music today belongs to 25-year-old singer, Zacardi Cortez. Over the last six years, Cortez’ big voice and spine-tingling vocal gymnastics have distinguished James Fortune & FIYA’s radio smashes “I Believe” and “The Blood.” That work

has made him one of the most sought-after singers in the business today. Now, he’s stepping into the spotlight and out on his own. His song, “One More Time” is a top ten radio smash, and features his mentor , Pastor John P. Kee. All of the buzz about Cortez’ old school vocal acrobatics have earned him celebrity fans ranging from John Legend to Le’Andria Johnson. This spring, Blacksmoke Media Worldwide released his debut CD, “Zacardi Cortez: The Introduction.” The first single, “One More Time,” is currently #5 on the Billboard gospel chart. The album features both new and old school gospel tracks with guest appearances by the likes of Donnie McClurkin, Lalah Hathaway and Kierra Sheard. The Rising Star Young Adult Ministry is honored and excited to bring this young and dynamic man of God to Southern Arizona. Born and raised in Tucson, church and religion became a part of Dansiea’s life at an early age. She sang her first song at church at the age of five.

For over 15 years this multi-gifted servant to the Tucson community has not changed her focus and passion – leading people to Christ through the power of her voice. An anointed and humorous teacher, preacher, mentor and singer, Dansiea utilizes her experiences and knowledge to pour out unselfishly into the lives of others. Minister Morris has been special guest speaker and preacher in several congregations, community events, and district and state level conferences and functions for more than two decades. She has also been the opening act for The Mighty Clouds of Joy, Kirk Franklin, Yolanda Adams and Sunday’s Best singer Crystal Aiken, as well as many more. Minister Morris holds degrees from the University of Arizona and University of Phoenix. Currently, she is working on a Master’s of Biblical Study from Trinity Theological Seminary. After years of hard work, dedication and prayer, Dansiea just completed her debut album, “Just Dansiea.” The Rising Star Young Adult Ministry is excited and honored that Dansiea will minister on Saturday, November 3rd during the concert movement.

Zealous and gifted with incredible vocal ability, Booker-T merges the styles of soul, R&B, blues, rock, hip-hop and jazz into wonderfully crafted and relevant Gospel music. His raw talent is evident in his debut single, “Saved Girl” which has been gaining notoriety throughout the world. He is zealous for the things of God and utilizes his talent to spread the Gospel of Christ.

OrdainedGospel Artist Ordained was birthed in April of 2009 by Minister Tony Wheaton, who saw the need to gather talented youth who were extraordinary and formulate an

unduplicatable sound of worship for God. This inspirational gospel group has set out to experience the true manifestation of God through praise and worship. With a melodic blend of traditional gospel and a modern twist of contemporary, Ordained has fused the genres of gospel music to form a style of their own. Ordained exists for the sole purpose of spreading the Gospel of Christ through song and providing community outreach and ministry.

Wayne K. Richards Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. His mother, Jacqueline Smith, instilled the love of God, discipline, inspiration, and a sound work ethic into her children. Elder Richards is married to LaKeisha

A. Richards and they just celebrated 12 years of marriage. Wayne accepted his call to the ministry in 2001 and was ordained in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree and Executive Master’s degree, both in Business Administration. Currently, he is pursuing a Doctorate of Business Administration. Elder Richards is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., where he serves as treasurer. Elder Richards passion for ministry is to seek and save lost Young Adults through Jesus Christ. Wayne believes that life should be lived in balance: Living by the Spirit of the God and having fun.

A Texas native, Minister Carl Baines has a passion for young adults and their walk with Christ. Recently licensed to preach the word, this Prairie View A&M graduate has a simplified approach to ministry, “keep it honest and 100.” Minister Baines is married and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He will minister on Sunday, November 4th during the 11:00 a.m. service.

About the Host Site:Rising Star Baptist Church

Rising Star Baptist Church was organized in 1976 by the Reverend I.C. Green. The fi rst church campus was located at 34 West 34th Street in Tucson. In 2007, the church moved to a 4.3 acre site at 2800 West 36th Street. In 1976 there were 43 charter members. Today that number has grown to well over 1,100. The current sanctuary seats approximately 400 people and the campus includes a bookstore, state-of-the-art commercial kitchen, nursery and toddler room, as well as multiple classrooms and offi ces. In addition to serving the local community and organizations, Rising Star does outreach both nationally and internationally. These include the National Baptist Convention, Ankara Baptist Church International in Turkey, Christian Alliance for Children in Zambia, Africa, the Humanitarian Aid Foundation World Relief Program, and a host of other programs. Rising Star has been pastored by the Reverend Doctor Amos L. Lewis for the last 23 years. He is the President and Founder of A.L. Lewis Ministries and has authored fi ve books including Pearls of Wisdom for Everyday Living. He is currently working on a Master’s of Divinity through Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary and in 2011 was given an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Saint Thomas Christian College.
