I feel like I’vereturned to a state of innocenceand confidence that I’ve beenyearning to get back to since Iwas 17.”South Londoner Patrick hasalways had a cult following andbeen big news in music circles.His last album — 2009’s TheBachelor which featured Swintonreading passages as the voiceof Hope — was totallyfinanced by his fansbut, for this one,he’s teamed upwith record giantsMercury.He said: “I’ve

gone from the really indieworld to major labels, thenfunded by my fans — and nowI’m back with a major label.”The audience for this albumlooks like being massive.Music bible NME is gettingright behind the super catchy,

“She came to one of my showswhen I was touring the lastalbum and I know she’s a fanof mine — the last time we werein contact she was inviting meto her gigs.“I’m very flattered as she’s areal genius, so it’s really cool.“The single is all about timesbeing hard and it’s like a mid-dle finger to all things material.“It’s getting back to thingslike loyalty and love — youdon’t care if your mum’s justgot fired or your best friend’sin debt, we should all focus on
