Educational Resource Services was organized in 1992 to offer a wide range of educational training programs and products to teachers and school districts. ERS offers on and off-site training, key note addresses, individualized school-wide discipline programs, school drop-out prevention programming, and consultation. In addition, we often work with alternative programs to establish effective behavioral and academic modification programs. Our training meets legal requirement of IDEA’97 & ’04, NCLB, and follow Best Practices for effective discipline. A variety of forms, books, and videos are available to help school staff practice effective discipline strategies in their classroom. Products and services may be reviewed at our web site.

Educational Resource Services understands that teaching is one of the most important professions in our society and we are dedicated to providing the highest level of services to educators. After attending one of our seminars, teachers report a decrease in student behavior problems, fewer suspensions, a drop in referrals to special education and enhanced academic skills.

Educational Resource Services recognizes that a school’s greatest resources are its school staff and students. At Educational Resource Services we are committed to helping school personnel develop effective, yet practical, discipline and academic strategies that actually work. Our focus is on effective intervention strategies that teach self-control. We are always happy to discuss our seminars with you personally or provide references.

Dr. Fred Johnson

Dear Colleagues:

Teaching in today’s school climate has never been more difficult. There are many reasons for this increased difficulty. Students have certainly changed, family dynamics have changed and societal expectations of teachers have changed. There have never been so many demands placed on teachers as there are today. In many cases it seems that quality instruction has taken a back seat to managing disruptive classroom behavior. In fact, it is estimated that teachers spend approximately 80% of their time dealing with issues related to disruptive behavior. Ongoing disruptive classroom behavior has proven to result in lower test scores and an increase in referrals to special education. While teachers are trained to teach, it is the disruptive classroom behavior that prevents them from doing their job! Disruptive classroom behavior reduces the opportunity for learning and often leads to teacher burn-out.

This current seminar, “Managing Disruptive Classroom Behavior” is based on my three latest books; “Proactive Discipline for Reactive Students”, “Effective Discipline for Difficult Students” and “From Chaos to Control: Understanding and Responding to the Behaviors of Exceptional Students”. This is an information packed seminar that will help you not only understand why students are disruptive, but it will provide you with the tools needed to make a difference in your classroom. This training is aligned with IDEA ’97 and ’04, as well as NCLB legislation concerning accountability and meets Best Practices for classroom management. Information will be presented on how to manage your classroom, and teach self-discipline. Please remember Title 1 and IDEA funds can be used for tuition for professional development training.

As a former school teacher, school psychologist and behavior specialist I understand the difficulties of teaching. I am committed to making this one of the most informative and useful seminars you have ever attended.

I know that disruptive behavior is a major problem in most classrooms. This is the perfect seminar to help you turn behavior problems into opportunities to teach your students life-long living skills. I look forward to seeing you at the seminar.

Fred JohnsonP.S. This is going to be a great seminar! If you have any questions, please call 1-800-579-1085 or visit our web site at www.EducationalResourceServices.com
