From Leadership Team
Here we are at the end of the first term at school. The Easter break during the term gave us an opportunity to re-charge before the end of the school term. Holidays are a welcome time to change pace and catch up with friends and some of those jobs that we don’t get to during term time. If you are travelling with your family over the holidays, I hope that you stay safe. Enjoy this precious time with your children. School resumes for term 2 on Monday 30 April. Like every other term I am sure that the term will very quickly fill up with lots of learning and activities. Sports Day Thank you to all those involved in Sports day last Friday. The weather was perfect for a day spent outside and the activities were a lot of fun. Congratulations to everyone for their excellent sportsmanship. Pupil Free Days and School Closure day. Governing Council has approved the following days for the remainder of the year; Friday 8 June – Pupil Free day Monday 23 July – Pupil Free day Friday 31 August – Pupil Free day Monday 12 November – School closure day Facilities News Last year we received government grants for asset maintenance and upgrade jobs. This week work was started on installing new lighting in the unit from a Sustainable Schools grant and exterior painting from an Asset maintenance grant. In the school holidays new carpet will be laid in the unit and teacher prep room. New vinyl will be laid in the canteen, server room and a storeroom near OSHC, also funded from the Asset maintenance program. Something for the holidays Whilst during the holidays I would encourage you to limit the amount of screen time your children are exposed to some useful websites that have games and activities that help develop memory and attention are; www.playkidsgames.com www.kidsmemory.com www.cognitivefun.com www.luminosity.com/brain-games
