Why you should be Super Excited!

✦ Your future is very bright

✦ The STEM Projects need you!

✦ All kinds of jobs that are really cool

✦ Your generation will be Mars astronauts!

✦ Use technologies that haven't been invented!

General Facts about "The Red Planet"

✦ Every day on Mars is 45 minutes longer

✦ Mars can be 35 to 250 Million Miles

✦ Weather warm as 81F & cold as -224F

✦ Has two moons: Phobos & Deimos

✦ Most habitable planet second to Earth

Where will we live in (on Mars)

2032: First Landing & First Habitat

Our final destination where supplies will be sent first with

Robots. Then humans.

2018: Orbital Space Station

Low gravity place to assemble the ships and, gather supplies and

needed fuel

2025: Phobos Base Station

Moon base on Phobos to mine materials and fuel and monitor Mars for weather. Less gravity allows for easy landings

By 2025 this will be what home on Mars could look like

11

What will we do when we get there?

Exploration & Research

to make Mars like Earth

...and while we are living there

we make it our new home 12

So after we are done with Mars?

We are going to the Stars!

Cool facts about "Interstellar" Space

✦ Distances are so vast they are measured in astronomical units and in Light Years! Light travels at 186,000 Miles Per Second!

✦ It is estimated that 100 Billion Galaxies exist...

✦ ...And each galaxy contains 100 Billion Stars!

✦ So there is a chance there are at least 100 Million Earth-like planets in the visible Universe! And by the math 10 Million have life!

✦ Time travel is possible, as satellite clocks are .003 faster

✦ And there have been2921 Exo-Planets found! Exoplanets are planets located outside our solar system. Our next destinations!

The life cycle of certain types of stars

For comparing Star size, one solar mass = Our Sun 16

How stars form & create energy

✦ Form in a process called accretion

✦ Stars create their energy through the process of nuclear fusion.

✦ Fusion is the process in which light atoms combine to form heavier atoms, giving off excess energy in the process.
