So much for lazy summer days. Forget the idea of
quiet Sundays sipping iced tea on the porch after returning from
church and another forgettable service. We are now in a time of continuous spiritual activity. On one side we see a church massacre – the disastrous Supreme Court decision redefining marriage, Isis tortures, and murders. On the other we see God moving in tremendous ways – the true church of God more serious in seeking Him, young people coming together to serve others, and lives being touched and changed.
Our youth group is having an amazing summer: 1) Twenty-six of them spent a week in Haiti ministering in an orphanage, putting in a cistern for a village that had no water source, and leading a conference for 110 pastors. 2) Last week, over 50 represented Harvest, joining 39 other churches (over 1,100 students and counselors) for WIRED. They all started and ended each day with worship in the Dothan Civic Center. During the day, they scattered all over the region to serve at 77 sites (doing construction, VBS, sports camps, and social outreach). What a powerful event uniting our churches and inspiring young people to follow God and serve others! 3) In a few weeks, we will have the Harvest Youth
Conference, our biggest youth event of the year and the largest Christian youth event in our region (after WIRED). Last year between 300 and 400 students came each evening for great worship, preaching, and prayer. After the services, they have fun playing some of the largest group games you will ever see. The lives of many students are transformed during this conference. Please commit to pray and to serve during this important week – it is a great thing to be part of, and it takes a lot of us to pull it off well!
Our Spiritual Life Conference will have met for the 8th “overtime”
service by the time you receive this newsletter. God is freeing, transforming, cleansing, empowering, and anointing people in powerful ways each time we meet, pouring out His Spirit. I believe He is preparing a group of spiritual warriors for His kingdom!
During our Sunday service, about 30 people raised their hand for prayer for salvation. God is moving daily all around us. He is waiting to reveal Himself to us when we seek Him. This is not a time to sit on the sidelines. When God moves, so do the forces of hell. We know God has the victory. Commit to prayer, which opens doors for God to do more (James 5:16). Ask the Lord to cleanse and empower you daily; proclaim and display His goodness and truth at every opportunity. He wants to use you!
From Pastor Ralph...

“I have learned about the power my shame has had over my life and my children’s lives after my divorce and other circumstances. I long to see my daughters’ countenances change back to the weightless ones they were so freely years ago. They’re burdened and so am I. I’ve found hope during
this revival. I’ve been reminded of how free God wants us to be. He’s so good to us when I think I’ve been looked over or forgotten. The girls and I, my fiancé, Josh, his sister, and her two children are looking forward to the next service. It can’t get here fast enough. I’m also slowly but surely being
called back into ministry after three years. Divorce is evil in so many ways, but I know God can and will use every last bit of the pain for His GLORY FOREVER! Thank you, Harvest! Thank you, Jesus, for what you did and continue to do for this sinner.” – Dana Bonney

We have been singing a few new songs since the conference started at the beginning of May. I want to share the song titles with you so you can listen to them in your worship and prayer time at home. Here is a list of the songs we have introduced to Harvest during the conference and on Sunday mornings:
• Open up the Heavens by Meredith Andrews (Vertical Church Band) • Come to the Water by Kristian Stanfill (Passion) • Alive by Hillsong Young & Free • Even So Come by Chris Tomlin (Passion) • No Longer Slaves by Jonathan and Melissa Helser (Bethel)
On Sunday, June 21, we also introduced an original worship song written by Caleb Frith called “The Victory.” Caleb has played drums for the Harvest worship team for several years and has written other original worship songs that you may hear soon.
To get involved, contact Rusty Frith at 702-6555 x247 or [email protected].
• Café Team This serving team arrives early on Sunday mornings to prepare various types of coffee. Team members serve coffee during the break, as well as before and after the morning worship services (once a month at the service of their choice). Come be a part of this vital ministry team.
• Balcony Teams We are looking for more volunteers for the following balcony teams: Refreshment Set-Up, Refreshment Serving, Refreshment Clean-up, and Ushers. Interested in serving? Write your team of choice on the back of your communication card on Sundays or email [email protected].
Christmas in July Excitement is building as we prepare for the 2015 Operation Christmas Child. Many of you have asked us to start collecting items earlier in the year, so now is your chance! For the entire month of July we will be collecting items to begin filling shoeboxes before the November deadline. Items can be dropped off at the church
office or the Welcome Center. Needs: school supplies (pens, pencils, crayons, erasers, sharpeners, etc), hygiene items (toothbrushes with holder, bar soap with a travel container, band aids, washcloths, combs, etc), accessories (socks, hats, solid colored t-shirts, flip flops, hair bands, sunglasses, etc), and other items such as a soccer ball with pump, flashlight with batteries, and
hard plastic plates, cups, and bowls.
Get Connected - We invite you to give us a call (702-6555 x231) so we can help connect you to the right ministry team that best fits your giftings. For a detailed list of ministry teams available to serve on, visit our website (HarvestDothan.com) or pick up a ministry team booklet on Sunday mornings.

Promotion Sunday: August 2 - Rising kindergarteners through 3rd
graders will promote to their new classes for the 2015-2016 school year (4th graders have promoted to SITE56). Each year we ask parents/guardians to complete a new registration card for their children. In an effort to make this transition smooth, we will be distributing registration cards during the month of July. Should you need any assistance completing your card(s), a registration info table will be set up in the KZ lobby. After you complete your card, please turn it in on Sunday to the KZ Registration Desk so you can pick up your child’s ID badge before the service. Please note: Children are not enrolled in their new classes until new registration cards have been received. It is a joy and a blessing to serve you by ministering to your children.
