Whether you are a continuing student or a newcomer to the TRiO program, make sure to start this semester off right by visiting your local TRiO-Student Support Services

office—for your convenience, there is one located on each campus. Remember, our goal is to assist you in maximizing your academic potential; the earlier you begin to utilize the services that we offer, the more you will benefit from them. Upcoming TRiO Events and Activities: Friday, January 28, 2011 University of Central Florida will be hosting a TRiO Campus Day Visit at 10:00 AM; Departure will be at 8:00 AM from the Cocoa Campus or other campuses as requested. Saturday, February 19, 2011 Florida Gulf Coast University's Open House Thomas Edison Laboratory & Museum Tour in Ft. Myers, Florida—College sponsored overnight trip. Saturday, March 19, 2011 Florida Atlantic University Campus Visit The Lion Country Safari Drive-Thru Zoo in Boca Raton, Florida Selected participants must be current TRiO students, enrolled in classes during the semester's activities, and be in good academic standing. Due to limited college transportation, this will be a first-come-first served opportunity. Additionally, a mandatory meeting will be required before each event to discuss agenda, guidelines, complete paperwork, and to ad-dress any concerns. The only cost you will as a student is for meals and or personal purchases. Please reserve your spot via email, walk in, or phone by contacting Reneé Parker, Administrative Support Assistant II at 321-433-7349. Email reminders regarding each event will take place.

Financial Aid Advisement We provide free FAFSA appli-cations and internet access to www.fafsa.ed.gov. We assist students with under-standing the financial aid ap-peals process. We maintain and update a

national scholarship directory for student use. We provide a limited number of SSS supplemental grant aid awards based on funding availability and other program criteria.

Who Is Eligible? Participants must meet the following criteria:

Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Have completed a regular high school diploma or GED.

Be admitted to and currently enrolled at BCC.

Be a degree seeking student with plans to transfer to a uni-versity or college to pursue a Bachelors degree.

Have a strong academic need as determined by the program.

Note: “First Generation; means neither parent or legal guardian has completed a Bachelors degree.

Due to federal guidelines, we must assure that two-thirds of eligible participants are both First Generation and Low In-come.
