School Fees
Invoices for school fees have been sent home. We would
ask that all fees are paid by the end of term and you can
pay online for more than one student , just put one students
name in and pay the full amount of the invoice , we will be
able to take care of the rest.
Absences
Please be aware that it is department requirement that
schools submit and monitor student attendance on a regular
basis. If your child is absent from school please inform us by
phone, directly in Sentral or make sure when your child
returns to school they have a note explaining why they were
absent. Partial absences also need to be explained this
should be in person, note with child or a phone call to the
office.
P&C Annual General Meeting
Just a reminder that the P&C Annual General Meeting is on
Tuesday 13 March at 7.30pm in the staffroom. All positions
will become vacant and nominations will be asked for,
everyone is welcome to attend. New members are always
welcome, even if you do not wish to take on a position.
A nomination form can be found online in one of the last
two newsletters.
Meet the Teacher
Thank you to all the parents who attended the Meet the
Teacher afternoon last week. It was a great opportunity to
meet your child’s teacher and familiarise yourself with class
expectations for 2018. Thank you to our Year 6 parents who
remained at school for a Year 6 to Year 7 meeting to discuss
the processes for making an application to High School for
2019. Mr Greg Johnson, Principal of Seven Hills High School
attended the meeting to answer any questions or concerns.
School Carparks
School carparks are for staff use only please do not park in
the carparks to pick up or drop off your children. Parents
may enter the top carpark if they are picking up or dropping
off for before and after school care only. This is only before
8.30am and after 3.30pm. Please do not walk through the
carparks.
School Volunteers
Please remember it would be helpful if all volunteers
(including class helpers) could provide a working with
children check. It is not a necessity to have a WWCC if
assisting in your child’s classroom however, it allows us to
monitor the process more closely. We currently have more
than 30 registered parents that help volunteer for school
activities.
Those who don’t have a WWCC are required to fill in a
Declaration for Volunteers and complete a 100 point check
at the office.
To register for a WWCC all you need to do is fill in a form
online at www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/check and then take
your proof of identity to your nearest Motor Registry, RMS
Agency or Service NSW office with your application number.
Your approval will be emailed to you within a few days. You
will need to print that out and bring it to the school office
with your date of birth written on it. A volunteer WWCC’s
are free of charge.
Swimming Carnival
Today our swimmers competed in our Swimming Carnival at
Waves Fitness and Aquatic centre. They travelled by bus and
returned to school by 12.30pm. Well done to all those who
competed. A contingent of swimmers will represent our
school at the Seven Hills/Wentworthville Zone Swimming
Carnival on Thursday 8 March at Blacktown Pool. Notes will
be sent home if they have qualified for Zone. All the best to
our successful swimmers.
