Who we are:

I would like to introduce my company and myself. I have owned Customizers since it’s beginning in 1979. I am extremely proud of being a “hands on” owner involved with every aspect of my company’s operation.

Customizers is celebrating 32 years in business, with most of our employees celebrating over 25 years with the company. We have been a General Motors SVM (Special Vehicle manufacturer) since 1988, building luxury conversion vans, multi-passenger vans, custom trucks, and custom sport utilities. We are recognized by GM for our quality materials, fine workmanship, and great relationships with dealers. What we do:

In 2008, we saw a huge need for high occupancy van transportation. We formed a new division of our company called Safety Vans. We build high occupancy transport vans that seat up to 15 passengers for schools, churches, universities, and van pools. We spent hundreds of hours and a huge financial investment to design a floor system that can adapt to any seating configuration. We are the only company to ever pass all FMVSS seat certifications with one body test in a 24 hour period. You can see more about these vans at www.safetyvans.com.

Why this is important to your Nissan dealership:

Nissan contacted us because of our history in the van business and because of the success of our new SafetyVan. After seeing the specs for the Nissan NV, we knew it was a perfect fit for both companies and that the seating possibilities that we could offer to Nissan dealers would be a huge benefit to all.

We moved quickly getting a Nissan NV body, building a frame, and testing the seating. We are proud to announce that we now have FMVSS 207, 210, 225, and 202a certification for seating up to 13 additional passengers for the Nissan NV van. Our door labels attest to meeting all FMVSS certifications in 50 States.

We also foresee a huge demand for additional “crew” seating for the Nissan NV commercial vans. For years, we have been building our GM Crew Van which consists of a row of three seats behind the front driver and passenger and a barrier for protection from the rear most cargo area. This same configuration will be ideal for the Nissan NV commercial van buyer who needs to transport equipment AND crew.
