Deck: Or, How I Instigated Then Overcame An Existential Crisis

Through Home Improvement takes us on a hilarious journey following a recently let go money manager as he embraces a fresh a start in a small interior community.

With a warning of power tools, physics and partial nudity, Deck is a captivating and absurd piece of theatre, that will have the audience howling over the antics of the characters.

This outstanding Festival Series show is an amusing journey about personal growth set in a small BC town as the fine line between perfectionism and obsession is examined. Presented by the Chilliwack Arts and Cultural Centre Society on November 10 at 7:30pm in the Rotary Hall Studio Theatre, Deck is a unique and darkly hilarious piece of theatre that you won’t want to miss.

Written and performed by Lucas Myers, the main character in Deck is Cliv, a meticulous single parent of two, who is forced to reassess his future after losing his job in the world of finance. His attempts at home improvement results in a hilarious

lineup of circumstances ending with him begging the audience to help him complete the task.

After purchasing a rather run down house, Cliv decides to take on the reconstruction of the shabby deck and quickly becomes aware of his hopeless inability to complete the job. Not only will he play a Beethoven’s 5th piano concerto but he will also be perform-ing a Mozart piano duet with our own resident accompanist, Graham Yates.
