in a race for first place. The winner will receive one practicing parishioner TUITION for the 2017-2018
school year at St. Joseph the Worker. Purchase a race number for $20 to sign up for the St. Joe’s 100

Joe’s Olympics. Purchase a numbered American flag pin for $10 for the chance to
play Shot Put Hot Potato. At 9:00, six people will be selected to play. The winner
will receive HearthSong’s exclusive part merry-go-round, part swing Vortex
Spinning Ring and Arched Sky Dome. The Vortex Spinning Ring Swing adds the
thrill of floating in the air to any combination of sitting, standing, spinning, and
swaying. There's room for up to four kids to share this exciting ride that attaches to a Sky Dome.
150 pins will be sold
Noodle Javelin Toss
Live out your Olympic dream tonight, where everyone is a medal winner. Purchase your very own
Olympic medal for $15. Each medal is numbered and at 10:00, three numbers will be announced to
participate in the St Joe’s Javelin toss. Winners of this historic event will win a fun weekend package
for the ladies and the gentlemen. The ladies will enjoy a night away at Gladwin’s Riverwalk Place and
Resort. Lounge in a four person suite or two regular rooms. Four ladies will each enjoy one spa
treatment, one signature gift, boutique shopping discounts, $20 for the Riverwalk Grill, $10 for Oasis

How It Works VERBAL AUCTION GUIDELINES
Upon arriving, each single person or couple will receive a bidding paddle with a number on it. During the Verbal Auction,
raise your paddle to bid. Raise your paddle so that the auctioneer or spotter can easily see the
number. Do not raise or waive your paddle in the air unless you are bidding. The auctioneer
could easily mistake such a movement as a valid bid. Your bidding paddle and number identify
who you are. Please do not lose your paddle. St. Joseph the Worker School is not responsible
for lost paddles or fraudulent bidding. You are responsible for all bids corresponding to your
paddle number. Decisions of the auctioneer are final. Please settle your account at the
checkout PRIOR to claiming your item(s). You will be given a receipt marked “PAID” to present
when claiming your merchandise.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A bid is a binding contract. Items are non-transferable. Under NO circumstances may an auction item be exchanged or
returned to the store or individual. The purchaser must remove all items at the end of the evening. All certificates and
services must be used in accordance with specified restrictions and by the expiration date on the certificate. Certificates
may decrease in value after one year. All sales are final. Payment must be made in full. Payments may be made by cash,
check, VISA, or MasterCard. Items must be PAID IN FULL prior to being claimed and removed from the hall.
SILENT AUCTION GUIDELINES
All items are marked with numbers and have a corresponding bid sheet with a matching number.
Please do not remove a bid sheet from the table. Bid by writing your paddle number on the bid sheet.
Bids must not be lower than the minimum stated bid. You may bid as many times as you like. New bids
must increase by the minimum stated bid. The Silent Auction will close at 8:00 p.m. The exact time will
be determined by the clock in the silent auction area. We will countdown the last 10 seconds. When we
reach “zero,” sheets will be pulled over the tables. The Silent Auction is then closed. All bidders must
leave the area. Please be patient; it takes some time to pull all of the bid tickets and enter bids for
checkout. Once the bid tickets are sorted, the Silent Auction will reopen and bidders may pay for and
receive their purchases. Items may not be removed or claimed without a paid receipt presented. To identify your winnings,
give your paddle number to the volunteer at the checkout table, located on the stage. You may pay by cash, check, or credit
card. You may then take your receipt to the silent auction area to claim your items.
IRS INFO
The Internal Revenue Service has directed charitable organizations to disclose to contributors
certain approximate costs of fundraising events to assist taxpayers in taking proper federal
income tax deductions. In the spirit thereof, you should know that 50% of your admission ticket
to the auction might be deductible as a charitable contribution on your Federal tax return. Also,
the excess of the price you successfully bid for an item over its donated or retail value is
deductible. Please consult your tax advisor for further information.
