EAT, DRINK, AND BE MERRY!

After two fruitful days of product sourcing and business meetings, it was time for some serious celebration!

Last evening, exhibitors, buyers, and members of the media gathered at The White House in Hall 4 for a good time of celebratory fun. Along with drinks and light refreshments, the crowd was also treated to a series of delightful performances. The party saw guests mingling to catch up with old acquaintances, and networking with new industry peers.

In his welcome speech, Mr Phua Boon Huat, Chairman of IFFS 2017 Show Advisory Panel, attributed IFFS’ growth and achievements to all within the industry who have supported the show over the last three decades. He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to everyone on behalf of the organising committee.

“Organising a successful trade show involves many components, and keeping it sustainable requires constant innovation. This is not a one-man show; but one that

requires the combined efforts of many. Without the continuous support and recognition from industry players - furniture and furnishing manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, designers, and buyers - IFFS would not have been able to grow and improve year after year, to be recognised as Asia’s premier sourcing platform today.”

The highly-anticipated IFFS Awards presentation ceremony was also held during the party. Check out the list of winning exhibitors and designers on the next page!

Seminars are complimentary and open to all to attend. Please note that seats are limited and will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

*The White House @ The Piazza Hall is located at Hall 4 of Singapore EXPO.

JAPAN UNRAVELLEDJapan is known for its careful preservation of tradition, superb attention to detail, and penchant for natural materials. Despite the advent of mass-manufacturing, Japan retains its pride in craftsmanship, and continues to hone its artisans in the pursuit for perfection. Come unravel the beauty of Japan at these IFFS and NOOK Asia stands!

KIMONO ARTISAN KYOTO, JAPAN (5E-72)

Traditional, exquisite, and emblematic of Japanese culture. These are the words that come to mind when you think of Japan’s national attire, the kimono. The folks at Kimono Artisan have deconstructed the kimono and translated its aesthetic and craft into décor pieces such as lamps, umbrellas, and cushion covers. Kimono Artisan pays great attention to the creative process, with a dedicated team of experts each possessing a mastery of sewing, dying, embroidery, and design.

ARIAKE, JAPAN (4B-72)

Ariake, which translates into “morning moon”, is a new brand incepted by two factories from the town of Morodomi in Saga prefecture. Its collection boasts a distinct style - clean lines, minimalistic arrangements and quirky accessories that come together to bring sophistication to any space. Products here are specially designed with unique materials such as white oak, sumi dyed ash, hinoki, and burnt cedar - artfully combining Japanese culture and woodwork techniques reminiscent of the current and popular “Japandi” design movement.

BRANDS

TAKAOKAYA FUTON CO., LTD, JAPAN (4D-58)

Takaokaya puts a modern and practical spin on the Japanese traditional cushion with its uniquely shaped ojami - available in a wide variety of patterns, colours, and sizes to suit any design scheme. Its cushions also provide posture support and correction benefits for users to lounge in full comfort.

J.CLAIR, JAPAN (5F-71)

GREEN IT UP! Keep up with modern trends by incorporating the latest PANTONE colour of the year - Greenery - to your interior design themes. Add a splash of this zesty shade of green to liven up any space, and immerse yourself in its natural hue. Greenery represents nature’s ability to revive, restore, and renew, offering urbanites a touch of freshness to their everyday lives. Embrace the versatility of this eye-popping color with these pieces!

RIVA DESIGNS, SINGAPORE (5A-61)

Work refreshing shades of green into an interior’s colour palette with Riva Design’s Tahiti collection. Named after the French Polynesian island, it blends traditional Indonesian rattan-weaving with European design sensibilities for a sophisticated fusion look.

HAINING QIANBAIHUI WEAVING CO., LTD, CHINA (3F-71)

Complement ‘Greenery’ with other earthly tones for a warm ambience, or skip the trend and build your own colour scheme with the wide selection of fabrics at Haining Qianbaihui Weaving Co, Ltd.

MAIORI, HONG KONG (4G-42)

Ditch that boring nondescript chair and kick back in style with this debut piece from the Maiori x Karim collaboration. Lightweight yet heavy duty, this chair drowns out the grey tones of the urban environment and is sure to cause many to turn green with envy.

URBAN ART, INDIA (6P-41)

Urban Art’s Butterfly Chair combines the rustic feel of leather with a sleek design to let users lounge in style. Classy and chic, this is a versatile piece that speaks for itself.

GREEN FIELD MANUFACTURING TRADING CO., LTD, VIETNAM (3F-52)

If the greenery shade is a tad too loud for the neutral scheme of an interior, fret not. Green Field Manufacturing produces bowls of various sizes that would perfectly complement any space.

FURRY COMPANIONSCosy, and oh-so-comfortable, furry furniture can evoke pleasurable sensory emotions. Whether you are looking for subtle detailing, or want to bring instant warmth to any interior, consider the addition of a furry furniture piece - or two!

“As an Interior Designer, I found the seminar by Giulio Cappellini very interesting. The content that he shared was helpful, and from his presentations I was able to learn more about furniture design and how to develop better interior concepts.”- Thung, Viet Thai International JSC (Vietnam)

“We found out about this seminar as we were combing through the IFFS website. The session’s content was very relevant to us as interior designers. There are not many events in Southeast Asia of this quality, so we see IFFS as a priority event for us to attend each year.”- Sarrah Syarifatualiyah, StudioHiji (Indonesia)

“The panel discussion that we attended was most interesting and what we appreciated most was that everyone on the panel came from different backgrounds. This brought about a host of diverse insights, and we as audiences had more to gain.”- Naomi Ngawaka and Rebecca Harvey, I Must Hunt Pty Ltd (Australia)

This four-seater round table with deep pouch drawers was designed for a game of cards, but also works perfectly well for a meal or round of drinks. We particularly like the sleek curves and smooth finish!

For a luxurious look and feel, why not consider this oblong table from ipse ipsa ipsum’s Nathan Yong collection? The piece features a green marble table top with hand forged brass legs, inspired by Indian architecture.
