Jesse J. Dunham, who landed in New York April 1st, from overseas duty, arrived in Leon Monday ev­ening, having come here direct from New York. He says he had some wonderful experiences in France, and like all the rest of the overseas boys is glad to get back home again.

Dixon Newton, formerly of this city, who was recently mustered out of the navy, pa^ped through Leon Monday on hi* way to Des Moines on business. He and his father, John Newton, have purchased a gar­age at Davis City, and Dixon's friends will be glad to have him back in old Defcatur county.

Mrs. J. F. Hewson returned to her home near Blockley Saturday, having been here visiting her hus­band, who is a patient in the Leon hospital being treated for a serious injury received when he-had his leg caught by a circular wood saw, and cut half off, a couple of weeks ago, but is now getting along nicely.
