IN MEMORIUM P A G E 4

W W W . F R V M U S K I E . C O M

Dave Schober, our fellow musky nut & FRV member passed

away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Condell Medical Center in Liber-tyville, as a result of a tragic accident at his home the previous week. Dave was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, snow-mobiling and coaching his daughter. Dave was 1988 graduate of Freeport High School (go Pretzels!), and attended Southern Illinois University. Dave worked at Jewel for 15 years and Follett (McHenry) for 15 years; he worked hard, so he could play harder. Dave married his soul mate, Debbie (nee Dobbs), on May 18, 2002 and instantly became a beloved stepfather to Emily Crandall. Dave and Debbie grew their family with a daughter, Courtney Rose born on April 16, 2004. Dave enjoyed his passion for life through hunting, musky fish-ing, snowmobiling, caring for his house full of girls, and coaching Courtney. His amazing personality, wonderful sense of humor, and his contagious laugh touched everyone who knew him. He was a loy-al fan of the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago Black-

hawks. There were plenty of people in Packer, Cubs and Blackhawk jerseys at his visitation! To those of us who knew him, and to those of us who got to spend some time with him; either hunting or fishing or just simply shooting the breeze over a cold one, you now know how truly blessed you were to have called him your friend! He was a good man, a good friend, a great Father and a won-derful husband who was taken too soon by a tragedy that rocked us all. Truly, he lived life to the fullest with no regrets. He made the world a better place and we are better people for having known him. R.I.P. Dave! The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, you please consider a donation in Dave’s memory to: Fox River Valley (FRV) Chapter of Muskies, Inc., Dave Schober Memorial, P.O. Box 7613, Algonquin, IL 60102 or a donation can be made to the Schober Family Fundraiser established for his girls at www.gofundme.com/schober-family-fundraiser.

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER… FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER… What season are we in? Are we going into Spring or is Winter still lurking around the corner? It has been disconcerting to “say the least” with record braking warm temperatures. The club’s One Hope United Ice Fishing event was rescheduled for February 25

th in hopes there would

good ice on Deep Lake! Now we have no choice but to cancel once again and reschedule this event for the boys who live at the One Hope United facility for next year. On March 4

th Satur-

day the annual Indoor Flea Fishing Market will be held at Rolling Meadows High School on Central Ave. from 8am to 1pm. FRV will have a booth selling used fishing items like rod &

reel combos, lures, electronics and more. If you have not been to the Flea Market in the past, please come, you will be impressed with the variety of fishing and fishing related items for sale at discounted prices. The money raised from this event by FRV will go into our youth fund. As you can see we do more than just plan fishing trips for our members, we reach out to the community by helping the DNR with their projects when they are in need of financial help. We sponsor the Bartlett Kids Fishing Derby plus the Hoffman Estates Fishing Derby and more. This is one more good reason for you to keep-up your membership and help support the club’s efforts in these endeavors. Reminder of expiring memberships: Andress, Bowman, Coscino, Duffy, Ellis-Ralph & Charles, Farris, Hardin, Jackow-ski, Johnson-James & others, Kafka, Kos, Kostus, Marinangel, Miller, Peterson, Phillips, Piorkowski. I will sign off by saying hope to see you at the next monthly meeting,
