The Rapid Flexible Fiber Box (Rapid FFB) with external spool provides a RapidReel cable system in a compact metalcabinet. The external spool versions of the Rapid FFB are equipped with internal and external spool assemblies thattogether can hold up to 1000 feet of Indoor/Outdoor (I/O) cable. Both a 12-fiber option (one cable) and a 24-fiber option (two cables) are available. The external end of each I/O cable is either stubbed or terminated with anMPO connector. The internal end of each I/O cable is secured to a splice tray or connected to sliding adapter packs(LC or SC). At installation, the I/O cables are unwound and routed to the feeder interface. The splice tray or slidingadapter packs provide the drop side interface. The following drawings show the Rapid FFB configurations.

A pulling swivel is recommended when pulling the cable through conduit or ducting. To insureproper pulling force is applied, insert the leading cable connector into the pulling connector.
Wrap several layers of vinyl tape around the pulling swivel and the trailingconnector. This will allow the connectors to slide smoothly within the conduit.
The minimum recommended conduit or firebreak hole diameter is 1-inch. If additionalcables will be installed in the same conduit, a larger diameter may be required.
!WARNING: Avoid using excessive force when pulling the cable using a cable pullingswivel. The maximum recommended pull force that may be applied to the connectorpulling eye or the cable itself is 40 lbs (18.14 kg). Always use the hand-wrap methodwhen pulling directly on the cable.

Hand-Wrap Method For Pulling Cable4
!
!
If it is necessary to pull directly on the cable, start by wrapping the cable oncearound the palm of your hand.
WARNING: Avoid using excessive force when pulling the cable using the hand-wrapmethod. The maximum recommended pull force that may be applied to the connectorpulling eye or the cable itself is 40 lbs (18.14 kg). Always use the hand-wrap methodwhen pulling directly on the cable.
WARNING: Stubbed microcables are terminated with non-functional MPO connectors.Do not cut off the non-functional connector until all pulling operations are completed.Pulling a cable after the connector has been cut off will damage the cable.
