Fully Welded Plate Heat Exchangers
Powerful, compact, economical
Our fully welded plate heat exchangers’ major selling
points are their compact size, outstanding heat-transfer
coeffi cients and comparatively low capital cost. They
are particularly robust and easy to clean and maintain.
The advantages in structural design are therefore
especially effective in fi elds where load capacity is
called for as well as performance. Each model series has
its own special advantages and fi elds of application.

GEAShell
GEAShell is a fully welded plate heat exchanger which
satisfi es very exacting requirements in relation to
process reliability. The heat exchanger plates designed
for individual solutions are welded into a pack and
mounted in the fully welded pressure vessel. This
design principle ensures that the exchanger is both
highly resistant to pressure and temperature and also
leak-tight. Media are fed in through ports on the pressu-
re vessel, the ports’ position being determined
by customer requirements.
GEAShell is rated for extreme temperatures of –200°C
to +950°C and operating pressures of up to 100 bar.
For use in the process industry, refrigeration and
power generation, the chemical industry and in marine
applications GEAShell is confi gured so as to accord with
technical requirements and at the same time minimise
capital outlay and running costs.

GEAFlex
Solves many problems: the fully welded GEAFlex
The GEAFlex is manufactured to customer require-
ments. The fully welded plate heat exchanger makes
installations with a heating surface of up to 8000 m2
possible. Its asymmetric plate design and special tube
and corrugation pattern make the GEAFlex a popular
choice for handling two-phase fl ows. The ideal applica-
tions for the GEAFlex are in condensation and evapora-
tion and for handling markedly different primary and
secondary volumetric fl ow rates. The asymmetric plate
design yields very effi cient heat transfer, the tubular
fl ow area keeping pressure losses small.
There are hardly any limits to the plate pack’s incorpo-
ration in any type of pressure-resistant casing. Many
problems in thermal process engineering can be solved
by using the GEAFlex – temperatures of –200 °C and
+900 °C and pressure ranges up to 60 bar are handled,
for example. It is at the same time distinguished by
comparatively low capital costs and high economic effi -
ciency. The GEAFlex is suitable for gaseous, liquid and
two-phase media in the chemical and petrochemical
industries and many other areas of application.

GEABloc
Standard yet customized to your needs
GEABloc is a fully welded frame-mounted plate heat
exchanger in which two different types of plate may be
used. Each plate is positioned at 90° to the adjacent one
and welded, the channels formed differing depending
on the plate profi le.
The frame consists of four columns, a base plate and
a top plate together with four side panels with ports.
All frame components are bolted together and can be
easily dismantled to clean and inspect the plate pack.
Adjustable baffl e plates enable the heat exchanger to be
adapted to its operating points.
The GEABloc works at temperatures up to 315 °C and
pressures up to 32 bar. Its principal uses are in the oil/
gas industry, the petrochemical and chemical industries,
the motor industry, the pharmaceutical industry and
also in papermaking.
All media-contacting components are made from high-grade alloys or materials. The bolted frame provides easy access for maintenance and cleaning.
Available in different patterns and sizes for a wide variety of applications, including replacement of existing systems.

REKULUVO/REKUGAVO
Top performance for air and gas
Wherever especially high-performance waste-air
or waste-gas heat exchangers are needed
REKULUVO/ REKUGAVO are employed, e.g. to
preheat inducted combustion air or to heat fl ue
gases to a catalyst’s reaction temperature.
By applying the counterfl ow principle
REKULUVO/REKUGAVO attains an exceptionally
high effi ciency factor of up to 97%. It is used for
example in environmental technology, in ammonia
and methanol plants and in thermal power plants.
