MLA STAFF REVIEW

• Ventures that meet criteria are further screened in one on one meeting• Following screening selected companies are granted IRC review• Ventures that do not meet criteria notified

• Developing ventures recommended to mentorship session and/or workshops

Timeline: 30 days

MLA Staff reviews venture applications for appropriate fit with MLA and to determine if ventures should proceed to IRC review.

INVESTMENT REVIEW COMMIT TEE

The IRC Meets on a monthly basis to review applications and/or view pitches.

At a pitch session the IRC will see between 4 - 8 companies out of which 2 – 3 companies will be selected to present to all members at the next investment meeting.

Timeline: 30 - 120 days**The range is due to the MLA Investment Meeting Schedule – occasionally MLA has targeted sessions which not all qualified ventures will fit into

Ventures must pass the IRC formal review will be asked to do a pitch to the IRC.

PRESENT TO MLA

• Ventures who pitch to IRC but are not selected to pitch to members will receive follow up.

• Ventures who are selected to pitch to the membership at large will receive follow up coaching.

Timeline: 30 days

Those 2-3 successful ventures from the IRC Pitch Session will then pitch to all MLA Members

Online private portal for ventures to upload content to interact with members of the MLA Community

• Members make individual investment decisions but collaborate on due diligence activities

• See this sample Due Diligence Checklist from the Angel Capital Association to get a sense of the process (all of the items may not be in place for all companies this is a general overview):
