This article focuses on Walt Disney World, located near Orlando, Florida, which is perhaps the most recognizable theme park in the world. After creating the Disneyland theme park in California in 1955, filmmaker Walt Disney was hesitant to establish another park. It wasn't until his involvement in building attractions for the 1964 New York World's Fair that he became aware of the new technological innovations that could be used in the creation of theme park attractions. Shortly thereafter, Disney started working on a second theme park, planning to build resorts, roads, administration buildings, and attractions.
