RED BLOOD CELLS

They carry oxygen to all parts of the

body through blood vessels

WHITE BLOOD CELLS

They protect us from bacteria,

illnesses, infections, etc.

PLATELETSWhen there is an injury in a blood

vessel, they close that injury.

Platelets act like a gel that makes a blood

clot.

Cholesterol is a substance that we can find in the blood and in body tissues in vertebrate

animals.

Cholesterol is necessary for our body because the cell membrane is made up of

this substance.

It is the process in which cells reproduce by dividing into more cells.

MITOSIS

This process happens all

the time.

Mitosis produce

identical cells.

Mitosis is an example of ASEXUAL reproduction because only one individual

(cell) is needed.

Our nails grow because the cells divide by mitosis.

Our bones grow because the

cells that make the bone tissue

divide by mitosis.
