An Inquiry-based Project

Page 2: Futures Project

What is it?• It is a Collaborative Learning Project

(CLP) that has a future focus and a global one.

• It’s an opportunity to be involved in hands-on research in an area of particular interest to you

• You will be investigating a key question or problem from an area of shared interest.

Focus Areas

• This area of interest will be based on your own reflections about:

• what matters to you – eg environmental concerns, business and finance,

• what you would like to know more about – eg astronomy; higher order mathematics; world literature; philosophy

• what you might like to better at – eg creative writing; dramatic or musical performance; multimedia technologies; visual arts; design

Your Project will be an open-ended and in-depth inquiry, guided by your teachers.

• It will have these features:

• 1. Real world in a global context – Speak to/liaise with people outside school

community– Involve interviews or surveys; global

resources of a ‘primary nature’ (eg OECD data)

– Issue itself can be a current global one
