Fuzion™ Cleaner Disinfectant
EPA-registered to kill C. difficile spores in 2 minutes
Low odor
Easy on surfaces
When your top priority is keeping patients safe from HAIs, you need a C. diff solution
that you can use everywhere
Prevent the spread C. diff spores throughout the facility
Every facility wants to lower their HAI rates, with the primary goal of keeping patients healthy. Under the Affordable Care Act, HAI rates are under increased scrutiny, and newly implemented financial penalties for preventable HAIs like C. difficile place additional burden on healthcare facilities. In 2015, approximately 1,375 hospitals were penalized via withholding of Medicare payments for poor performance, averaging $458,000 per hospital4.
Environmental hygiene is an important part of an infection control strategy and is essential to help prevent the spread of tough-to-kill pathogens like C. difficile spores. C. diff can live on surfaces for months, and easily spread to other patients and healthcare workers. That’s why it’s important to stop the spread of C. diff via surfaces, even beyond isolation rooms.

C.diff is not isolated to isolation rooms 75% of C. diff infections begin
outside of the hospital1
A study revealed that 33%
of non-CDI isolation rooms
in one facility tested positive
for C. diff 2
Airborne C. diff spores can be
recovered up to 25 cm above
the toilet seat after flushing a
contaminated toilet3

Achieve Compliance with Protocols:
• Easy to use
• Stays wet to meet contact time
Maintain Patient & Staff Satisfaction:
• Safe, tolerable products for staff
• Patient perception of cleanliness (HCAHPs scores)
Choosing the right environmental hygiene protocols and products requires balancing multiple needs
Introducing Clorox Healthcare® Fuzion™ Cleaner Disinfectant

Bring Fuzion™ to many additional locations throughout the facility

Surface compatibility + low residue = opportunity to use bleach everywhere you need it Fuzion™ uses a revolutionary technology to eliminate the chemical reaction that can damage surfaces. This allows you to use Fuzion on common healthcare surfaces, even clear plastics, glass and wood.
Fuzion™ leaves surfaces looking clean, not cloudy. Minimizing residue is important not only for maintaining surfaces but also for influencing patient perceptions of cleanliness. The figure on the right compares residue from Fuzion™ and a leading quat-alcohol disinfectant.
Now you can confidently eliminate C. diff on more surfaces than ever

Spotlight on beds and mattresses: an often overlooked problem Studies show that HAI-causing patho-
gens can be spread via contaminated mattresses*
20–47% of mattresses in acute care settings have damaged or worn covers; some of this damage may be caused by disinfectants that aren’t compatible with mattress surfaces†
Many acute care mattress manufactur-ers’ warranties prohibit use of a low-pH solution because of potential damage; Fuzion™ is pH neutral and has been ex-tensively tested on leading nonporous mattress covers
Other high-touch surfaces on the patient bed include bed rails and bed frame, both of which have nooks and crannies where pathogens can hide. Fuzion’s spray delivery system gets into those tough-to-reach places that wipes and microfiber cloths can’t

Minimal odor helps to improve user and patient satisfaction
Low odorStrong disinfectant odors can have a negative impact on patient satisfaction and also generate complaints from staff. That’s why Fuzion™ was designed to minimize odor. Upon activating the spray, users may notice a light smell, similar to that of chlorine in a swimming pool. Within minutes, the neutralizer begins to break down the active, eliminating any lingering odor.
Feedback from potential users13 EVS staff and 14 nurses tested the odor of Fuzion™ in a small, nonventilated room to maximize exposure to the product odor
The most common descriptions of Fuzion™ odor were “light” and “pleasant”
Only 3 out of 27 users in the same test associated the Fuzion™ smell with bleach
Particularly on soiled surfaces (not pre-cleaned), where the smell of a disinfectant can be even more pronounced, Fuzion™ scored better than a leading bleach product

Advanced nozzle technology for even coverage and ease of use
Average droplet size is 60% larger*, which makes the drops heavier and reduces misting. The lower velocity spray also reduces bounceback when the liquid makes contact with surfaces.* vs. sprays using swirl nozzle
Each spray of the Fuzion™ bottle delivers a wider, more even surface coverage versus a traditional swirl nozzle.
Fuzion™ will also cling to vertical surfaces with less messy dripping. (See figures below.)
