Analyze the importance of each of the following and justify:A. If a company is having a blog/forum, then why do they need to have facebook groupB. For discussion, why the companies not using company page and will postin the groupC. Similarly for Linkedin. Why a company needs to have a group/community. Why can't they post the topic for discussion or any requirement on the official page and invite peoples views in the form of comments.

A. If a company is having a blog/forum, then why do they need to have facebook group

A blog is a place where we voice out our ideas in the form of articles and short notes. It is mostly based on experiences of a person or an organization.

A forum is an open discussion on any platform where people can debate and share ideas on a particular topic.

Facebook group is a group of people who connect for mutual benefits either open or closed to the external world. This is mostly for like-minded people connections and discussions on related issues.

For example, a placement week might create a like mindset among all group members and they can start discussing on the group. FB groups can be leveraged to create the “TOGETHER” feeling and a platform to share the resources and knowledge. It is like a virtual classroom/tution for the group members where they can get support from other group members who can be colleagues or industry professionals added by you on the group.

One main issue to be considered for an FB group: we have to generate the trends recognizing the ongoing activity of group members. For example, Placement week discussions, project works, competition related discussions etc.

As of now, our organization neither does have a blog nor a forum nor an active FB group.

B. For discussion, why the companies not using company page and will post in the groups As indicated above, the FB group is particularly for mutual cooperation between the group members and particularly for helping each other in like activities. 1 FB group cannot suffice all age groups. But company does have only one page where it communicates to all target communities at a GO and to new potential people as well, but not necessarily triggers discussions. This is the core difference between an FB group and FB page usage patterns. One more issue is many people do not like to use the FB page as a place to request/discuss something unless it is a customer service page. So, this triggers the need for a group to discuss the issues. And How can you create a perception in the mind of students that an industrial professional will answer to the queries of individual unless he is seen in the group page. The Group page displays the list of members on the group where new joining will be influenced if we have good people onboard.

C. Similarly for Linkedin. Why a company needs to have a group/community. Why can't they post the topic for discussion or any requirement on the official page and invite peoples views in the form of comments.

Similarly, a Linkedin page of organization can be updated with posts only by the company and not any outsider. (Top-down communication)

On Linkedin groups, any user can trigger a discussion or request for help on an issue. (Cross communication)

Also, having eminent personalities related to industries can have a positive impact on the group.

For example, a trainer related to IT industry can be added on the FV-IT related group. And a trainer related to Management can be added on related group.

Remember that communication should be 2-sided and not just from company’s side.
