4. The software part also involved in Development of suitable algorithm for image reconstruction

1. A hardware system which is

capable of generate the

magnetic field that can

detect by the hall effect

sensor

2. Graphical user interface

using VB as a tool to capture

and store the value capture

by the hall effect sensor

Fundamental Study and analysis of magnetic coil properties in Magnetic Induction Tomography

No. of Student : 1 person

In Magnetic Induction

Tomography (MIT) application,

the needs of having the best

spec of magnetic coil are very

important since this is among

the factors that will provide the

best image reconstruction of the

object that is going to be

1. This project consist only FEMM software application.

An analysis of several types of

magnetic coil properties such

as number of turns, types of

wire, diameter and etc in

generating the best

performance of a magnetic

induction system for a given

measurement distance.

Fundamental Study and modeling of magnetic field

using FEM

No. of Student : 1 person

Co-supervisor : En. Khairul

Salleh

FEM is among the method that

are use in magnetic field

modeling and analysis. It is

capable of providing magnetic

field strength properties for

analysis.

1. This project consist

only ANSYS/ other

related software

application.

2. The student has to do

the study on the

fundamental theory of

magnetic field.

3. Then analysis of the

certain given

magnetic field

parameters are done.

A FEM model for a given

magnetic field properties or

equation

Fundamental study of Magnetic Flux Leakage

(MFL) Diagnosis System

No. of Student : 1 person

MFL is among the current

application in oil and gas pipe

diagnosis system in Malaysia

and also in the world. It applies

the flux leakage properties for

the crack detection inside the

metal pipe.

1. This project covers

both hardware and

software systems with

the application of hall

effect sensors

2. The student has to

develop the system

which consist of

magnetic coil,

transmitter and

receiver circuit and

also the

microcontroller.

3. The hall effect sensor

will detect the MFL

strength and will

determine whether

there is a crack or not

on the scanned metal

block.

1. A system which

capable of generating

magnetic field

strength up to certain

given distance

2. A system which is

capable of detecting

the MFL up to certain

given distance

3. Analysis of the

capability of the

system to detect

crack on the metal

block

Hardware:

1) Magnetic coil

2) Hall Effect sensor

3) Other electronic components

4) SK40B

5) ICSP programmer

6) AC-DC adapter

7) USB- serial converter
