Project success grew from gaining and maintaining stakeholders’ trust.

Long term civic engagement process began in early 2009.

Media presence was important – project webpage; e-mail notices

Personal interactions critical to success.

Partnership with Village Association. Village Association personal contacts extended those personal interactions to bring about trust and consensus.

Unique funding source: the Cape Cod Commission’s ability to assess mitigation for regional impacts allowed design concepts and construction documents without “penny pinching”

Town capital funds set aside for FY 2017 construction
