How do we define Hospitality and Tourism ?

Hospitality

Defined as the friendly reception and treatment of guests or strangers; the quality of receiving and treating guests and strangers in a warm, friendly way.Derived from the French word Hospice.

TourismTourism is defined as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes".

How does Hospitality and Tourism impact the

Economy? Hospitality and Tourism is one of the most

significant revenue generators for the state - second only to agriculture. It is estimated that Georgia earns $8 in hospitality and tourism revenue for every $1 spent on tourism marketing. More than 439,000 Georgia residents work in jobs related to hospitality and tourism. Tourism drives significant business growth and increased revenue for companies operating in Georgia. Hospitality and Tourism is approximately a $58.9 billion industry for the state.

Field trips give students educational experiences away from their regular school environment.

Not only do field trips provide alternative educational opportunities for children, they can also benefit the community if they include some type of community service.

Learning in assorted ways can appeal to varied learning styles, helping children to succeed whether they are visual, auditory or kinetic learners.

Students visiting different educational facilities learn in a more hands-on and interactive manner than they do in school.
