Thank You so much to Rebecca Risk who wrote this article.

As some of you Monsters may know Gaga is completely obsessed with Disney and Disney Prin-cesses. This follows her recent trips to Disneyland in Tokyo and the Florida resort where she was pictured riding a carousel and getting her photo taken next to the evil Queen in Snow White. This may have some other relevance to her upcoming album ARTPOP in which Gaga has released a little ‘appetizer’ as quoted by Tara Save-lo to the new album with a song named ‘Stache’. The lyrics consist of ‘Princess High Die’ repeatedly this shows her love for Princesses even more.Gaga often takes selfies of herself and captions some of them ‘Screw being Queen. I mean the Princess has more fun anyways’ another was of her in a Disney Princess Jumper and the caption stated ‘Princess tea party!’ She clearly wants us to take note on the whole Princess and Disney theme and

mix it up with being a rebel. Gaga also mentions Princess High a lot. Could this be a key figure or theme for the next album? She has also talked a lot about ‘break-ing the rules of Fame’ and how she is going to be more ‘fearless’ on ARTPOP. These are all strong relations to the theme of Disney Princesses and Fame.

“Well I was goin’ for a more stoned Disney princess kinda vibe”

Helen Green also plays another part in this on-going theme. As you all know Helen is the latest member to join the Haus Of Gaga

with her incredible artwork in which Gaga loved and decided to take her on. Time after time she has drawn up some out of this world art in which monsters all around the world love! But some of the ones which has some more relevance to this theme is the Disney Princess ones. Helen drew Gaga as a Disney Princess her-self standing in front of the Born This Way Ball stage. This was the posted on LittleMonsters.com to which Gaga commented “OH MY GOSH! I want that to be real!!” fans then started pouring their comments asking if Gaga would really release a DVD with her face on the front as a Princess. So it seems Gaga really does love this idea. Who knows what the future holds?

‘It is my life’s dream to be in a disney movie.”

Page 5: GAGAMagazine Issue 4

Gaga seems to be in love with this whole Fame Princess. When she arrived at the Fame launch in London last October, fans were greeted with a horse drawn carriage with Gaga herself inside along with Tara, Fredric and little Fozzi. Gaga was dressed in a long black dress with a Vuitton Brown weave flow-ing right down her back like a real Princess. She then posed for the cameras and signed a few things for fans before going into Harrods and being treated like a Princess for her perfume launch. Lets take a look at the Macy’s NY launch. This was live performance piece within itself. Gaga was practically asleep for the entire launch. Cameras were dotted all around her. She was placed on a bed, her Vuitton Brown hair placed so neatly and perfectly all over her body like a Princess. This could be a strong reference to Sleeping Beauty and how sometimes the Fame can get to her and how she just wants to

sleep.Back in June, Lady Gaga also re-leased a brand new song named ‘Princess Die’ the whole focus for this song was for people to acknowl-edge great stars such as Alexander McQueen, Princess Diana, Isabella Blow, Sylvia Path and Whitney Hou-ston. The aim of it was to explain that the glamour lifestyle that these people may have lived was not all true and that the smiles were just cover ups to the real pain they were hiding. Such as being a Princess. It can all be so great having this amaz-ing lifestyle and the money (such as Gaga’s life) but when it comes down to it the pressure of Fame and soci-ety’s projection can take its toll. You can begin to feel like the underdog or the jester. Following the Princess High theme, Gaga went to a party dressed as a ‘High Princess’ character in which she was dressed in a neon green

tutu like dress with two cannabis plants stuck to her breasts. She also had a gold tiara which had canna-bis plants stuck to it. Some people have named it in relation to her next album ‘Stoned Disney Princess vibe’ because she keeps on mentioning the drug and has often admitted to smoking weed whilst she writes new music. So could ARTPOP be a rebelling fourth album from Gaga? Evidence that suggests that are some of the producers she has been work-ing with for the album such as Zedd for example who helped produce ‘Stache’. Gaga actually wrote a tweet hinting: “Well I was goin’ for a more stoned Disney princess kinda vibe” could this be the theme Gaga is trying to get at? ARTPOP is certainly going to turn a few heads within music and with this whole ‘Disney Princess’ vibe I’m sure Gaga is going to succeed in making it her best album yet!

Two sentences - September 13th 2009 in New York City. The MTV Video Music Awards. We already know exactly what I’m talking about. Lady Gaga has just performed ‘Paparazzi’ as a theatrical avant -garde awakening which has left Little Monsters everywhere reeling. We all let out a yelp as we before our eyes saw her sing and dance till she bled on stage; displaying it for the world and cameras to see. This is the breath of fresh hairspray and smoke filled air that we all needed.

‘If you’re wondering what I’m going to look like when I die, here it is’But what did this performance mean? Not only was it Gaga’s 8 inch high heeled foot in the door of setting her own bar in the industry, it was in her words ‘the inevitable demise of the celebrity’. We watched as Gaga started from a near foetal position on the floor; face covered in an virginal white laced Keko Hainswheeler mask until the removal acted as herbreaking out from purity and into the dark belly of rising fame. With her amazing live singing and snippet of undeniable talent on the piano she left the crowd amazed, to then near literally bleed for her art. Her custom Haus of Gaga Bleeding Bodysuit was the first of its kind which was rigged to a radio controlled blood bag underneath the embellished material. This was an effort taken to make sure the blood was released right on cue, no earlier and no later than

planned otherwise it would of given the whole game away. Gaga states the bodysuit was inspired by a Frida Kahlo portrait in where she is bleeding from the heart.

She also stated her overall inspiration was the death of the celebrity, especially the highly publicized death of Princess Diana, and this was a way to give the media vultures what they wanted to see; her death on stage. She said ‘If you’re wondering what I’m going to look like when I die, here it is’.

She continued her theme of stained purity through-out the evening, sticking to white and red. As she picked up the award for Best New Artist she wore an Alexander McQueen blood red lace dress and mask which was to represent the after death or ‘the eternal martyrdom of fame’ following her performance.

“I just knew I had to bleed to death for four minutes on TV”Some fans were freaked out, whilst others labelled it as brilliant and understanding that as an act, Gaga needs to deliver ‘she gives us as an audience what we desire’. Most relished in her blunt stab at what socie-ties’ obsession has now become and laying this truth bare. Both ways it got people talking and they all saw the obvious truth that Lady Gaga can sing and dance whilst delivering a performance that no one is going to forget for quite some time.

“I wanted to say something about how the celeb-rity sort of has this inevitable demise that we

love to watch,”

“But are we killing them or are they killing themselves?

She’s a dancer, choreographer, assis-tant, and most importantly a member of the Haus of Gaga. Lacee Franks is a beautiful, talented girl from Min-nesota born on October 23rd that hopped on the road to fame through the powerful, bold, amazing dancer and choreographer Laurieann Gibson on the reality TV show “The Dance Scene.”

The show featured Gibson and her dancers and choreographers, which of course included Franks, and revealed their daily lives of being performers in today’s competitive entertainment industry. E! Network premiered the show on April 10,2010 and unfortunately ended it on May 30, 2010. Although the show has ended, it still airs all around the world. Assisting Gibson on “The Dance Scene” put a lot of pressure on Franks and was tough enough to do the job, but she wanted to step up her game and followed Gibson to work with Lady Gaga. While Gibson was choreographing for Gaga, Franks was assisting her and Richard “Richy” Jackson. Since Gibson is no longer

working with the Haus of Gaga, Jackson has taken over the position of being lead choreographer with Franks becoming his assistant and taking on another huge but awe-some role as Gaga’s creative direc-tor.

While working with Gibson, Franks assisted her with the choreography for Telephone. Franks also danced in several live performances of Judas, with one being at “Le Grand Journal,” (French nightly news and talk show) but was never featured in the music video. However, one music video Franks has been in is the Mary the Night music video that was the premiere of Jackson’s work. Franks has been slightly visible to the light, but has recently become more popular after being pictured on the Born Brave Bus, attending some of the BornBrave Bus tailgates, and recently seen pushing Gaga around New York City in her wheelchair. Little Monsters, like they normally do wanted to find out more aboutthis character that seemed to be getting so close to Gaga and Tara and seemed to be at every Born This Way Ball performance, BACK-STAGE!

Only after a few months,Franks has unknowingly started her own sub fan base within Little Monsters; they call themselves “La-ceedolls,” perhaps it’s because Franks is such a sweet, genuine person. The dancer has worked her way up to the top and seems to keep getting high-

er and higher. Gibson said, “Lacee Franks is besides being a little lamb fell from heaven, Lacee is junior assis-tant, personal and choreographical…basically she’s in the mailroom of a big corporation, working her way up.”

Franks can be found at facebook.com/laceexorose, Twitter @laceexo and Instagram at laceexo as well. She has acquired many followers on these social networks and some might say it’s due to all of the inspirational quotes she puts out. Little Monsters are constantly looking for people that are inspirational just like the Mother Monster (Lady Gaga) herself. Franks once said,

“You are worth more thanyou are aware…so invest in yourself and then share your worth and values with the world.”

We will be looking forward to seeing more of Lacee Franks and hope shekeeps brining her positive energy, talent, and inspiration to the Haus of Gaga and Little Monster family.

Thank You Lacee and to Kala Godwin for writing this beautiful article.

The creative design team known as the Haus of Gaga has, since its conception, been responsible for some of the most creative and off the wall props and costumes that Lady Gaga uses in her performanc-es. The Haus itself is the group of people from all different forms of art, drama, and fash-ion that Gaga goes to when brainstorming on new ideas; often times the Haus will also work with other designers and various creative companies to help in their inventions. From the Haus we have seen creations such as the Smoking Cigarette Glasses from the music video for Telephone, the amazing Pyro-Bra first debut-ed at the 2009 Much Music Awards then seen in the Bad Romance music video and the Monster Ball, a wide variety of pianos and keytars for all forms of performances, and the Bleeding Bodysuit used in

the stunning performance of Paparazzi at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Perhaps though the most iconic of any of the Haus creations would have to be the famous Disco Stick; first used in 2008 with the beginning of Gaga’s club tour, for the past five years since its conception the Disco Stick has, in its own way, probably been the best example of how Lady Gaga has grown and changed within pop culture. From being a small metal rod with crushed plastic and LED lights in the Fame Ball to the crystallized torch-like creation of the Mon-ster Ball that shined so bright-ly when lit that Gaga could use it almost as a search light on individual audience members. The latest form in the Disco Stick’s evolution is a sleek and glassy alien-like design that was well befitting the Born This Way Ball.

The list of inventions by Gaga and the Haus is actu-ally quite extensive as they are everything from wigs, to props, musical instruments, to wardrobe and each creation has helped to shape its respec-tive album era. As we begin to enter what is being called the ARTPOP era, we have already begun to see the next round of Haus products this being the recently introduced ARTPOP wig which as described in a video posted by Gaga is a blend of actual hair and the latest in fiber optics creating what looks to be a peroxide blond wig that with a flip of a switch can light up like some-thing that looks more fitting in a rave. Whatever comes next its safe to assume that with the Haus of Gaga’s amazing creativity the inventions of the ARTPOP era will surprise and amaze us all.

Recently GAGAMagazine asked a reporter to go to the Big Apple to visit all of places mentioned in our first issue. Read a first hand ac-count of a monster’s visit to Gaga’s apartment and other places in the big city.

The very beginning of Gaga’s ca-reer took place in a tiny apartment in the Lower East Side of New York, an apartment that still bears significance today. When you look at the neighborhood Gaga lived in, the music video for The Edge of Glory and Marry the Night in-stantly comes to mind.

The brisk air, cluttered streets and damp sidewalks are just some of the things a monster will see there. The antique buildings are almost identical to those in the Edge of Glory video, which is one of the reasons why it feels almost unreal to think that you’re walking the same streets as Gaga once did. The

faint scent of fresh bread and old leather are a few more things that describe the street our Pop Queen once lived on.

Gaga’s apartment building itself seemed to be one of the older buildings in the area. When you enter the building, the first things you notice are the repainted white walls. The brown wooden staircase goes up four floors, and while they don’t creak, you get a sense of how worn down the steps have gotten over time. Someone else owns Gaga’s actual apartment, so no one is allowed inside, but just being outside the door, being able to touch the same doorknob that our idol once used everyday brings you so much closer to her.

After seeing her neighborhood, you begin to realize how hard Gaga had to work to get to where she is now. Seeing a part of her past allows you to appreciate more

the person she is today.

The apartment situated on 176 Stanton Street has transformed into a shrine for monsters, with writing all over the walls and flowers being left. The door has to be painted several times a year because of monsters writing on it.

Thank You to Harmanjot Uppal for visiting New York and taking photos.

Do you ever stand in your bedroom, practising the Bad Romance choreography as if there is an audience of 20,000 people in front of you? No? Maybe that’s just me then, but the reason that this flawless choreography is so mem-orable and perfect is because of the extensive imagination of one woman; Laurieann Gibson, other-wise known as BoomKack.

Laurieann choreographed almost all of Lady Gaga’s songs from Boys Boys Boys back in 2007 up to Yoü and I in 2011, which was unfortu-nately their final collaborationtogether due to the fact Laurieann felt Gaga’s ideas were “getting a bit too dark for me,creatively.”

Another reason that Laurieann will be remembered by Monsters is because of her no-nonsense, bitchy attitude. During the com-plications of the directing of the Edge of Glory music video, she

felt that some fans were out of line with the comments they made about the situation, and replied with her now iconic quote “u dis-respectful f**!” Laurieann isknown throughout the industry for her profanity, especially during her TV shows Born to Dance and The Dance Scene.

Laurieann has now moved on to the likes of Nicki Minaj and Cas-sie, but her legacy left on Gaga’s performances will live on and in-spire many more people to dance and express themselves.

Shortly after the separation of Gaga and Laurieann, Gaga tweet-ed that Richy Jackson, formally Gibson’s second in command, would be the new head choreogra-pher in the Haus of Gaga.

Just like Laurieann, Richy has been around since Gaga’s early career days, where he firstappeared in Gaga’s music video for Beautiful, Dirty, Rich in 2008. Throughout Gaga’s career he has helped Laurieann choreograph

many songs, but his first major solo piece came in late 2012 with the music video to accompany Marry the Night.

Since then, Richy has choreo-graphed the newer songs per-formed on the Born This Way Ball Tour such as Black Jesus + Amen Fashion, Heavy Metal Lover, and fan favourite Scheiße.

He has recently starteda six-city dance workshop tour around the US, where dancers of all ability can learn thechoreography to many iconic Gaga songs.

With the release of ARTPOP near-ing (ever so slowly…), Richy will be deeply involved in the creative process of the new era, giving him the chance to express his talents to the fullest. We send him lots of love, and hope he can deliver in 2013!

In recent news it has emerged that Gaga has reached out to a monster who is in a similar situation to herself. @emmac_94 tweeted the secret on 11th April and since has had floods of support from monsters across the world. Emma is the inspiration behind the name of Gaga’s wheelchair.

Gaga herself reached out to me and is hooking me up with her team of doctors, plus others, that did her surgery in NYC as I have been needing a hip replacement for quite some time (my left hip dislocated almost two weeks ago too.. I know, perfect timing, right?),”

“We’re planning on flying out this weekend, all expenses paid, for a consult. She won’t be there, but the gesture is absolutely incredible and I broke down sobbing immediately after-wards.

“Words can’t describe how incredibly BLESS-ED I am... I would like to send a MASSIVE thank you to Gaga, her entire team, as well as (Gaga’s parents) Cynthia and Joe for doing an incredible job of raising the most beautiful person I know.”
