In memory of Dadi Nirmala Gajwani, a month long Sports Festival is organized by the
Gajwani Schools and Colleges every year. This year the second mega sports festival was
organised from 28th December, 2018 to 19th January, 2019. The festival started with a
mini-marathon run of 6 km with a theme of “Act now, Save Environment for better
health”. It was a grand start with flag off, by the honorable MLA of Gandhidham, Ms.
Maltiben Maheshwari. 15 different sports events were held during this period. The closing ceremony
was accomplished in the presence of Mr. Suresh Gajwani (President, GSC) and Dr. Usha
Belani and other honorable management members. The festival was handled very effi-
ciently under the excellent guidance of the Managing Trustee Mr. Jaikishan Hemnani, the
Chief Outreach Officer, Mrs. Tulna Sharma and her able team. On the whole the sports
festival was a grand success.
“ Act now, Save Environment for better Health”
Workshop on Drama and Art in Education
Drama and Art in Education is a mandatory subject in B.Ed. Curriculum. On 16th February, 2019,
a workshop was organized on this subject. The resource persons, Dr. V. Basiya (drama), Mr.
Kaushal Chaya (music) and Mrs. Nirali Pandya (dance) have efficiently conducted the workshop.
It enabled the student teachers to apply the techniques of drama and art in education creatively.
The workshop was successfully completed under the direction of Ms. Bharti Sadarangani, Asst.
Prof., Dr. H. R. Gajwani College of Education, Adipur.

14th FOUNDATION DAY
Foundation Day is a designated date
on which celebrations mark the founding of
an institution. Dr. H. R. Gajwani College
of Education, Adipur was established in the
year 2005. Each year it celebrates its
Foundation Day on the date of birth of its
founder, Dr. H. R. Gajwani, which falls on
the 07th of August every year. To mark the
occasion, the 14th College Foundation Day
was celebrated on the 31st July of 2018. Dr.
C. B. Jadeja, the then Vice Chancellor of
KSKV Kachchh University, Bhuj was the
Chief Guest. Shri Suresh Gajwani, Presi-
dent of Gajwani Schools and Colleges in-
spired and blessed the teacher trainees.
Various cultural programmes were orga-
nized to make the celebrations memorable.

WORKSHOP on ICT in EDUCATION The college staff and students attended a workshop on „ICT and Com-
puter Assisted Language Learning (CALL)‟ on the 16th of March,
2019 at C N Arts & B D Commerce College, Kadi. Dr. Atanu
Bhattacharya‟s Keynote address was rich with valued information on
„On the Future of Educational Technology‟. Dr. Dilip Barad oriented
the participants on „MOOC and Swayam Project‟. Dr. Mahesh Jivani
exemplified excellently on „e-content tools and Google sites‟. The
participants could update themselves with latest applications of ICT
and CALL in the field of education. The students were escorted to the
workshop by Computer Lab Instructor, Mr. Kishan Ramjiyani.
BLOOD DONATION CAMP
With a slogan of „donate blood and save lives‟, a social welfare
programme was organized by the student teachers on the 24th of
February, 2019. This activity was conducted in the college campus
from 10 am to 01 pm under the supervision of Shri Rajabhai Patel
Blood Bank, Adipur. The staff, student teachers, parents, guardians
and the invited guests actively participated in the camp and donated
blood. A total of 79 units of blood was donated during this welfare
programme. The donors were congratulated and appreciated for
their contribution. The programme was successfully conducted un-
der the able leadership of the Vice Principal of the college Mrs.
Tulna Sharma and the College Student Council.
15th YOUTH FESTIVAL
Youth festival is one of the mega event for the college to participate every year. This year Youth
Festival- “ YUVASPANDAN” is organized in the month of September, 2018 by KSKV Kutch
University. It is an excellent platform for the students to exhibit their talents. Students brought
laurels to the college by winning position in many competitions.

Trend of Placement Fair
Any professional course goes in vain and pain if appropri-
ate job opportunities are wanting. With a strong belief in
this ideology, Dr. H. R. Gajwani College of Education,
Adipur annually conducts a Placement Fair for successful
trainees. This year also a Campus Placement Fair was
held on the 27th and the 28th of February, 2019. Around 31
prominent schools from all across the Kachchh District
visited the college for recruitment of teachers in their es-
teemed institutions. 100% selections were made with best
salary package offers. Prior to the Placement Fair, the stu-
dent teachers were thoroughly trained for interview attend-
ing etiquettes and mannerisms. The entire college staff en-
thusiastically joined hands in the Placement Fair to make it a grand success. The institute expressed its
gratitude to the schools for their support.

PLACEMENT FAIR
Professional courses gain significance
with immediate placement. With this be-
lief, „placement fair‟ is annually held for
the trained nurses of Smt. Nirmala
Gajwani School of Nursing, Adipur. Main-
taining the trend, this year also the inter-
views were conducted for 59 nurse stu-
dents of GNM and ANM branches. Vari-
ous hospitals from Ahmadabad, Rajkot,
Gandhidham, Anjar and Bhuj approached
the institute for conducting the interviews.
The eligible nurses were offered jobs to
report to the hospitals with immediate ef-
fect.
Oath to Serve
Every budding nurse student has to be made aware about the significance of nursing care.
Symbolically it is celebrated with responsibility and a promise to the nursing profession.
The nursing students are made to take an oath of promise that was developed by Ms. Flor-
ence Nightingale. It is celebrated as ‘lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony’.
Following this tradition, the 1st year ANM and GNM Nursing students of Smt. Nirmala
Gajwani School of Nursing, Adipur also celebrated the ‘lamp lighting and oath taking cer-
emony‟ that was very well planned and successfully organized by the institution.

Public Awareness Programme on Malaria
Malaria is one of the dreadful and communicable diseases of the
world. The nurses of Smt. Nirmala Gajwani School of Nursing,
Adipur had planned for a huge public awareness programme on
Malaria. It was a group project carried on by the 2nd year students
of GNM Course. Flash cards and charts were used to emphasize on
the effects of Malaria. Role plays and dramas were also performed
by the students regarding the prevention and cure of Malaria.
Primary Health Check up
In collaboration with the Rambaug Hospital, Adipur, the nurses
of Smt. Nirmala Gajwani School of Nursing, Adipur have ac-
complished a giant programme of primary health check up in
different schools of Gandhidham and Adipur. During this pro-
gramme, they visited almost all local schools and primarily ex-
amined the general health condition of the students. Later on
the cases which needed immediate medical attention were re-
ferred to the concerned medical departments. The management of the institute expressed its
gratitude to the Rambaug Hospital, Adipur for its support and guidance.
Programme on Cancer Awareness
Day
The nursing students cum staff of the
institute organized a Cancer Aware-
ness Programme in collaboration with
Vsindhi, Giant, and Sterling Hospi-
tals. Eminent doctors of the twin cit-
ies in this field were invited to share
information on causes and treatment of this disease. Dr. Gadhvi attended the patients and coun-
selled them. Cancer patients also shared their views and experiences with the other patients and
the public in general. In this context, a guest lecture was also arranged to make all the partici-
pants aware about this dreadful and dangerous disease. On this occasion, a free general health
check up was also organized for all the needy. The program was successful with a strong sup-
port from all the members of the management.
Concern for Persons with Special Needs Persons with special needs are part of the society and they
are ought to be involved in all of our social and religious ac-
tivities. Smt. Nirmala Gajwani School of Nursing, Adipur
had a unique plan to express its concern for such persons.
During Navratri, the staff and students of the Nursing Col-
lege had collaborated with Ashapura Navratri Mandal, Adi-
pur and successfully organized a Garba program. In this programme, around 60 special women
guests those who were homeless and mentally retarded from Shanti Sadan were invited.
Spell Bee Competition
A Spell Bee competition was conducted
on 6th December, 2018 to enrich the vo-
cabulary of the students. This competi-
tion was conducted to make the children
realize the need of rich vocabulary and
correct spellings. The Spell Bee competition consisted of 3 rounds, in which both the oral and
written modes were included. The winners were encouraged by giving certificates and trophies.
Nurturing Healthy Food Eating
Habits
Good and healthy eating habits should
be nurtured among the children. A pro-
gramme for healthy food eating habits
was held on 29th November, 2018 in or-
der to make the students understand the significance of eating healthy food. The were also made
aware about the nutrients present in different vegetables and fruits. On this occasion, the students
prepared fruit and vegetable salads under the supervision of their respective class teachers. Gifts
were distributed to appreciate the students for their creative salad preparations.
Community Helpers Day
Community Helpers Day was
organized in Pre-primary and
Primary sections of SVIS. Each
student was given an opportuni-
ty to enact the role of a commu-
nity helper. On this occasion the
students dressed accordingly
and said few lines about the
prominent role that they play in our society. Helpers working in the school were also felicitated.
It was held on 31stJuly, 2018. The students were made aware about the importance of Communi-
ty Helpers in our daily life.

Green Day Celebrations
Green day was conducted at SVIS pre-primary school.
It was a theme based function where everyone was asked to
wear green color outfits. The stage was decorated with green
vegetables and fruits. Teachers explained the importance of
trees with the help of a project prepared by the students. It
was held on 7thJuly, 2018. The students enjoyed the program
thoroughly.

SVIS Annual Day Celebrations, 2018-19
Annual day of a school is the time when the students rejoice and get involved
in extracurricular activities. It is also the time to let parents explore their
child‟s skill and interest. This academic year the annual day celebrations were
held on 24th January, 2019, with a
theme on “Spirit of India”. Colorful
cultural programmes were held that
made the day memorable not only for
the audience but also the performers.
The students took the audience on a
journey to different states through
their theme based colorful performances.
International Yoga Day
Yoga is an age-old practice that boosts
the physical, mental and spiritual well
being. International yoga day was cele-
brated in the school campus on 21st June,
2018 in collaboration with Tripti Yoga
Center, Gandhidham The entire school
participated in the programme with all
the spirit and zeal.
School Investiture Day The Investiture Ceremony of Sadhu Vaswani International
School, for the academic year 2018-19 was held on 18th
June, 2018 in the school assembly hall. The elected students
council was made aware of its duties and responsibilities by
the school Principal. The staff and the students congratulat-
ed the council on its selection.
Social Service Day
“The happiest people I know are those who lose
themselves in the service of others”. Based on this
spirit, the founder of SVIS Dr. H. R. Gajwani Dada-
ji‟s birthday is celebrated every year by helping the
girls at “KARUNA VIHAR”, an orphanage at Adipur.
This Social Service Day was celebrated on 7thAugust,
2018 with a cake cutting ceremony. In this context
books were distributed to the students of “Karuna Vihar”.
Independence Day Celebrations
Thousands laid down their lives during freedom struggle so
that our country could be independent. We shall never for-
get the sacrifices of the freedom fighters. On the occasion of
independence day, a flag hoisting ceremony followed with
cultural programs were organized in the school campus.

Vriksharopan Ceremony
“The earth laughs in flowers if we save our
environment”. The eco club of the school
celebrated Vriksharopan ceremony by
planting saplings on 24th August, 2018. The
staff and the students participated in this
ceremony with genuine interest.
Science Quiz
“Science is the systematic classifica-
tion of experience”. In order to boost
the scientific attitude among the stu-
dents, a Science Quiz was conducted
for IX and XI grade students, on Atoms
and Molecules and Cellular Biotech-
nology and Human Physiology respec-
tively on 27th December, 2018.
Skit on Tribute to Army
Indian army is like a mother that
does work selflessly and never asks
for anything in return. In order to pay
tribute to our Indian army and their
selfless services a skit was per-
formed on 15th January, 2019.
Induction meeting with X and XII grade parents
An induction meeting with the parents of grade
X and XII was conducted on 15th June, 2018.
The parents were informed about the academic
and examination schedules of the forthcoming
session. The parents were advised to take care
of the physical well being of their wards so that
they give their best at school.
Health is Wealth
A Rubella vaccination camp was orga-
nized on 29th November, 2018, for all the
students of the school. The camp was or-
ganized by the local Medical and Health
Department.

Ganeshotsav was celebrated in Sadhu
Vaswani Working Women‟s Hostel,
Gandhidham in the month of
Bhadrapad on Chaturthi. All the hos-
tellers celebrated the utsav with en-
thusiasm and religious fervor. Ms.
Sujatha Nair, the rector of the hostel
greeted the residents of the hostel on
this auspicious occasion.

A good provision for a safe and
comfortable life gives a feeling
of home away from home to the
hostellers. Sadhu Vaswani
Working Women‟s Hostel,
Gandhidham is one such oldest
hostel of the twin towns of
Gandhidham and Adipur. The
hostel has the best homely envi-
ronment to dwell in. It provides well furnished, independent and shared rooms to the work-
ing women and students.
Navdurga Puja
A special puja was arranged in the hostel
premises to celebrate the occasion of Nav-
ratri. under the guidance of the manage-
ment and hostel rector, Raas Garba was
arranged for the hostellers. One and all
expressed their devotion to Maa Durga
and enjoyed the Raas Garba.
New Year Celebrations
1st January is celebrated as a new year‟s day
all over the world. In hostel it was a joyous
occasion which was marked with excitement
and enthusiam and more resolutions. On 31st
December, 2018 New year day celebrations
were held in the hostel. The hostellers greet-
ed one another for a healthy and prosperous
new year.
