Culture Night is brought to you by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Creative Ireland Programme in partnership with Galway County Council.

An Roinn Ealaíon, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta a dhéanann comhordú ar an Oíche Chultúir, i gcomhpháirt le Comhairle Chontae na Gaillimhe.

Welcome to County Galway Culture Night 2017Culture Night is an annual event that celebrates culture, creativity and the arts. It will take place on Friday 22nd September 2017 from about 2 pm and continue late into the night!

Culture Night happens because many people share a vision and enthusiasm for enjoying, celebrating and promoting culture, creativity and the arts.

This programme gives a taste of the wide range of people, communities, artists and institutions that make it happen across County Galway. This year, 87 events are taking places in 39 towns and villages across County Galway.

We’d like to extend a big thank you to all the hard working artists, community groups, volunteers and venues that have made Culture Night 2017 in County Galway possible. Also, a special thanks to our County Council colleagues for their continued support and commitment, the Galway 2020 team, Aimée van Wylick, Culture Night Coordinator and of course James Harrold in the City Arts Office along with his team. Finally a big thank you to the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht for their co-funding and support.

So, why not check out the brilliant line up across the County and try something new!

Sharon O’GradyArts Officer

Fáilte chuig Oíche Chultúir Chontae na Gaillimhe 2017Is ócáid bhliantúil í an Oíche Chultúir a dhéanann ceiliúradh ar chultúr, ar chruthaitheacht agus ar na healaíona. Beidh ócáid na bliana seo ar siúl ar an 22 Meán Fómhair 2017 ó thart ar 2i.n agus leanfaidh sí ar aghaidh go dtí amach san oíche!

Tarlaíonn an Oíche Chultúir mar gheall go bhfuil an fhís agus an suim chéanna ag a lán daoine maidir le cultúr, cruthaíocht agus na healaíona a cheiliúradh agus a chur chun cinn, agus taitneamh a bhaint astu freisin.

Tugann an clár seo blaiseadh den réimse leathan daoine, grúpaí pobail, institiúidí agus ealaíontóirí a thagann le chéile ionas go mbíonn Oíche Chultúir 2017 in ann tarlú i gContae na Gaillimhe. Tá 87 imeacht eagraithe i mbliana, i 39 mbaile agus sráidbhaile ar fud Chontae na Gaillimhe.

Ba mhaith linn buíochas mór a ghabháil leis na healaíontóirí díograiseacha, na grúpaí pobail, na hoibrithe deonacha agus na hionaid ar fad a chuidigh chun go mbeifí in ann Oíche Chultúir 2017 a reáchtáil. Tá buíochas faoi leith tuillte ag ár gcomhghleacaithe sa Chomhairle Chontae as a dtacaíocht leanúnach, ag foireann Gaillimh 2020, ag Aimée van Wylick, comhorditheoir na hOíche Cultúir, agus ag James Harrold in Oifig Ealaíon Chathair na Gaillimhe mar aon lena fhoireann. Mar fhocal scoir, tá buíochas mór ag dul don Roinn Cultúir, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta freisin dá gcomhchistiú agus tacaíocht.

Déan cinnte féachaint ar ár réimse leathan imeachtaí agus triail a bhaint as rud éigin nua!
