DESCRIPTION
To play this game, all you do is roll two dice and add the
totals together. If the total is 2 or 12, you lose 35 dollars. If
the total is 3 or 11 you lose 15 dollars. If the total is 4 or
10 you lose 10 dollars. If the total is 5 or 9, you don’t lose
or gain any money. If the total is 6 or 8, you get 5 dollars. If
the total is 7, you gain 20 dollars. This game is attractive
to the player because 7 is the most likely outcome, and 2
and 12 are the least likely.
PREDICTED DATA
We predicted a mean of .555, meaning we would
make $0.56 on average off of each game played. The
predicted standard deviation was 1.727.
EXPERIMENTAL DATA
The mean from our experiment was -.8, meaning
we averaged losing $.80 per game played. The
standard deviation was 2.62

RESULTS
Our experimental results were much worse for us than the
predicted, because we averaged $1.35 less per game played. This
was due to the unusually high number of 7s rolled, which would
not happen over a larger sample size. The standard deviation was
also much larger, also due to the smaller sample size. Over a longer
period of time and more games played, the average would rise and
we would make money. The standard deviation would lower. We
don’t really think we could improve this because it is enticing to
the players but we will still make money in the long run.
