SERIES NOTESGettysburg holds an 85-38 lead in a series that dates back exactly 100 years. The teams have split the regular-season series in each of the previous five years.

LAST MEETINGA 14-point second-half deficit proved too much to overcome as Gettysburg fell to McDaniel 50-46 on Jan. 17. The Green Terror led 37-23 with just over 16 minutes remaining. The Bullets chipped away at the lead and eventually whittled it down to three with eight seconds left before Andy Kwiatkowski hit a free throw for McDaniel to seal the decision. Senior Matt England recorded a double-double with 10 points and 14 boards, while sophomore Nick Antolini tallied 13 points. Senior Cameron Stewart finished with 10 points and handed out five assists. Stephen Lang led McDaniel with a dozen points.

LAST TIME OUTGettysburg dropped a 72-59 decision to Muhlenberg on Saturday. The Mules hit nine of their 14 three-pointers in the second half to open a double-figure lead five minutes into the second stanza. Seniors Cameron Stewart and Matt England shined for the Bullets on Senior Day, the former scoring a team-high 15 points and the latter picking up his fifth double-double of the year with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Luke Cooper, sophomore Danny Duffey, and freshman Chris Jack all contributed eight points for Gettysburg.

LEADING REBOUNDERSenior Matt England is on pace to become the first Gettysburg player to lead the conference in rebounding outright. England is currently averaging 8.9 rebounds per game, which puts him ahead of Jesse Turkson of Haverford by 0.7. England’s average is the best by a Bullet since John Griffin ’94 averaged 10.1 in 1993-94. Last season, Cody Kiefer ’17 tied for the Centennial lead with 7.6 rebounds per game.

THE END OF AN ERAToday marks the final home game for Head Coach George Petrie, who will be retiring at the end of the academic year. In 29 years at the helm, Petrie has guided the Bullets to a program 395 victories, three Centennial Conference titles, and five NCAA appearances. Petrie has also coached the men’s golf team for the last 24 years and has led the program to three CC titles.

SCOUTING THE GREEN TERROR... McDaniel dropped a 78-71 decision to Haverford on Saturday. The Green Terror battled to a 63-all tie before an 11-point run gave the Fords the lead for good. Josh McWilliams paced McDaniel with 26 points after going 11-of-20 from the floor. Andy Kwiatkowski aded 18 points and Jared Houck chipped in with 10 off the bench.
