No. 9 Oklahoma (6-1) at No. 8 Kansas State (7-0)
Oklahoma suffered a stunning defeat last week at the hands of Texas Tech, likely costing
the Sooners a shot at the national championship. Kansas State off to its best start since
1999, tries to end a four-game losing streak against the Big 12 Conference powerhouse.
The Wildcats have a tough task; the Sooners have not lost back-to-back conference games
in 13 years. Oklahoma’s offense, ranked third in the Big 12, faces a Kansas State defense
ranked best in the conference. However, the Wildcats have allowed more than 600 yards
passing over their last two contests.

22-0 and claimed the Little Brown Jug in the 50th installment of the
rivalry.
October 25, 1980 — College Football Hall of Fame inductee
Darryl Talley set a West Virginia single-game school record with five

20 years and still ranks second on West Virginia’s career total tackles
list and third in career unassisted tackles.
October 26, 1968 — Georgia’s Jake Scott tied an NCAA record
with two interceptions returned for touchdowns in leading the No. 8

leading the Big Red to a 6-0 start with a 24-21 win over Columbia in

No. 5 Clemson at Georgia Tech
Sat., Oct. 29, 5:00 p.m. (ABC) The Clemson Tigers are coming off a 59-point
performance against North Carolina last week and look
to continue the trend against the Yellow Jackets.
However, Georgia Tech looks for a victory after dropping
two in a row and getting knocked out of the BCS
standings.
No. 6 Stanford at USC
Sat., Oct 29, 5:00 p.m. (ABC) Heisman Trophy candidate and Stanford quarterback
Andrew Luck has the Cardinal offense clicking on all
cylinders. Stanford holds the nation’s longest winning
streak at 15 games. USC owns the edge in the all-time
series, but Stanford has won three of the last four
contests. The Cardinal defeated the Trojans 37-35 on a
field goal as time expired last season.
No. 15 Wisconsin at Ohio State Sat., Oct. 29, 5:00 p.m. (ESPN) After a heart-breaking loss in East Lansing last week,
Wisconsin looks to bounce back against the Buckeyes.
Ohio State will have revenge on its mind after the
Badgers defeated then No. 1 Ohio State last season. This
will be the first time in 12 meetings Wisconsin faces an
unranked Buckeye team. Wisconsin has lost in its past
two trips to Columbus, last winning there in 2004.

Standings
Tune in for this week’s games you won’t want to miss (all times MST).
No. 11 Michigan State at No. 14 Nebraska
Sat., Oct. 29, 9:00 a.m. (ESPN)
This showdown may play a role in determining the
winner of the Big Ten’s Legends Division. Michigan
State looks to keep its perfect October in tact, after
already defeating three other conference opponents.
Nebraska is unbeaten in five all-time meetings against
the Spartans.
Illinois at No. 19 Penn State
Sat., Oct. 29, 12:30 p.m. (ABC/ESPN2)
A huge milestone is on the horizon for Penn State
head coach Joe Paterno as he tries to become the
all-time winningest coach in Division I history with
409 career victories. He will secure his place in the
record books with a win over Illinois. Penn State
attempts to extend its longest winning streak in
more than three years, while the Fighting Illini try to
end a two-game losing skid.
No. 22 Georgia vs Florida (Jacksonville, FL)
Sat., Oct. 29, 12:30 p.m. (CBS) Florida quarterback John Brantley returns this week
to lead the Gators after missing the past four weeks
with an injury. He faces Georgia’s defense, ranked
sixth in the FBS and allowing an average of 273 yards
per game. Georgia enters the game on a
five-game winning streak. Florida has lost three in a
row. History is on Florida’s side; it has won 18 of the
last 21 meetings.
Pulling off an upset of the nation’s third-ranked team to end the nation’s longest home winning streak earned the
Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-2) the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Team of the Week for games the weekend of Oct. 22.
Quarterback Seth Doege threw for 441 yards and connected with Alex Torres on three of his four touchdown
passes as the Red Raiders raced to a 31-7 lead on their way to the 41-38 win
in a game that was delayed by weather at the start for 94 minutes.
Oklahoma’s 39– game home winning streak dated back to 2005 season
opener and its home loss was just the third under Bob Stoops (75-3) in his 13
seasons in Norman. “We wanted to show everybody what kind of team we
really do have. We’re a resilient team,” Torres said after the game. “We have
a lot of fight in us. We knew what kind of challenge we were up against but
we knew exactly what we needed to do.” For more information on the
