Principal Abbott to Visit Woodland Community: Saturday, August 27th at 9 am Mrs. Abbott will visit the Woodland neighborhood to meet the families who attend Garden Hills Elementary! The location is 1170 Woodland Avenue, in the Four Seasons Apartments park area.

School Gardens Re-Vamp: Sunday, October 2nd We need volunteers to help build the new boxes we are receiving

thanks to a generous grant from GCAPP (Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Power & Potential)! We will be replacing all existing beds with newer, sleeker models. We have many beds in 3 areas around campus, so we’ll need lots of help! If you are interested in the planning and execution of this project, contact Katie Carlson at kcarlson@atlanta.k12.ga.us. Junior Girl Scout Troop 13683 at GHES: Junior Scouts is open to 4th and 5th-grade girls. We will meet once a month starting in September and have several outings and a camping trip. Needs vary throughout the year, but the first bunch will be needed when the younger grades sing at Atlanta International School’s German Christmas Market in December. Parent volunteers will help escort the kids next door to AIS, keep them corralled while there, help carry the jingle bells, etc., and get them safely back to school.
