Applications:• Airports• Banks• Correctional facilities• Country borders• Government facilities• Industrial complexes• Intelligence organizations• Military bases• Nuclear facilities• Oil & Gas refineries• Petrochemical plants• Pipeline infrastructure (intrusion & leakage)• Power plants and substations• Pumping stations and block valve sites• Routes and Roadways• Storage yards• Transit tunnels and underground infrastructure• Utilities• VIP residences

Marmon Engineered Solutions provides the best quality products and services to its customerand that now includes state-of-the-art fiber optic intrusion detection systems, based onDistributed Acoustic / Vibration Sensing (DAS / DVS). Marmon’s Fiber Optic Sensing Systems(FOSS) are suitable for practically any security application or measurement range required dueto its tailored interrogator systems that are configured and customized for each scenario.Applications can range from perimeter intrusion along fences that detects climbing or tamperingat the physical barrier, to third party interference of critical pipeline infrastructure with buriedcable along its perimeter that detects walking, digging, and vehicular motion.

Fiber Optic Sensing SystemsPerimeter Intrusion

By utilizing a standard fiber optic cable as the sensor,light-transmitted signals are continuously capturedalong the entire length of the cable and then areaccurately processed and analyzed to determine exact-ly where and what type of disturbance is taking place.

Installation Features:• Ease of installation and rapid deployment• Protecting the entire site with a single, uniformlydistributed fiber sensing system

• Can convert any standard fiber optic cable into the sensor that requires little to no modification• No power or electronics in the field• Intrinsically safe, immune to EMI, RFI, and lightning• All data controlled and managed in one location that requires no new locations for infieldequipment

• Eliminates the need for trackside/roadside installation of power, copper cables and resourceattendance along the infrastructure

• Designed to the desired application/function, with varying deployment methods to suit eachlocation

• Available for long range applications – up to 80km (50 miles) of sensor length in certain sys-tems

• Also delivers quality solutions for small to medium perimeter markets• Easy to integrate into existing perimeter surveillance technologies (e.g. thermal cameras, UAVs,CCTVs)

• Economic post-installation operation and ability to compliment other security technologies

Performance Features:• Field proven, economic technology with complete system robustness and reliability• Pinpoints any unwarranted disturbances at their precise locations• Can detect threatening intrusion activities and Third Party Interference (TPI) before damage orcorruption to the essential asset or infrastructure

• Detects accidental damage by excavation or seismic activity• Exceptional response and classification capability with high sensitivity, yet minimal nuisanceand false alarms (i.e. environmental)

• Delivers real-time, valuable and accurate data to clients for rapid decision making and incidentresponse

• Hardened solutions for sites demanding redundancy and sensor cable cut protection• Can configure and assign alarm detection criteria and threshold as well as fiber breaks• The flexibility of setting discrete zone lengths in the software as required• Instantly review historical data of all activity around the asset• Little to no maintenance and long life-time with a high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF)• Low cost of ownership
