Definition of Crisis

A Crisis is a disruption of the balance in a person’s life. The person in crisis faces a problem that he or she cannot handle with the coping skills that he or she has developed, or solutions that

have worked in the past are not effective in the current situation.


Concepts of Helping

1. Each client is an individual in his or her own right

2. Each client is entitled to respect for his or her dignity as a human being

3. Each client has a right to express his or her attitudes and opinions
