That’s awrap!

Make somewhat large wrapped loops to mimic the round shape of the beads. And when you wear the

necklace doubled, the loops will create a more open

and airy design.

Finishing tipPlace smaller beads on each side of the clasp for a more comfortable fit.

Color cohesionUsing gemstones with similar tones, combined with subdued wire and findings, gives this necklace an organic flow.

“Each gem is individually wrapped with antique brass wire and paired with a variety of brass caps and findings.”

1necklace • Cut a 3-in. (7.6 cm) piece of wire. On one end, make

the first half of a wrapped loop (Basics). String a bead cap, a gemstone, and a bead cap, and make the first half of a wrapped loop. Make 17 or 18 single-bead units.

2Cut a 5-in. (13 cm) piece of wire. On one end, make the first half

of a wrapped loop. String: bead cap, gemstone, bead cap, gemstone, bead cap. Make the first half of a wrapped loop. Make seven or eight two-bead units, adding an additional bead cap between the gemstones as desired.

3On one end of a single-bead unit, attach half of a toggle clasp and

complete the wraps. Continue attaching bead units as desired. Attach the last bead unit and the other half of the clasp.

Pairing semi-precious gemstones with antiqued brass evokes a feel of bohemian elegance. This necklace can be wrapped twice or worn in one long loop and layered with other jewelry — perfect for casual-chic style.
