How It All BeganIn the beginning, we were working with the OWYP (One World Youth Project) and we were assigned with Rwanda. We contacted them and they never ended up getting back to us. We were still really interested in doing something, so the 5/6 class decided to make our own organization.

Gators H.E.L.P. is a non – profit organization created by the 2011 / 2012 Grade 5/6 Class of Applewood Public School. Gators H.E.L.P. is dedicated to giving all children around the world a better future. H.E.L.P. stands for hunger, education, life and poverty, and we focus our efforts on improving these issues globally as they relate to children.

Each year we pick a Millennium Development Goal to focus on to help improve the lives of children around the world. The Millennium Development Goals were established by the United Nations in the year 2000, as a set of guidelines for total global development.
