    Registration: Register your child at www.gavilance.com. To register for Robots vs. Aliens, G Force

    Rockets & Moon Blasters, Busting Myths with Cool Science and Fizz! Bang! Pop! Flash!register with Destination Science at www.destinationscience.org or call them at 888-909-2822.

    Registration must be in the name of the child.

    These classes are for Enrichment only and are NOT for college or K-12 credit.

    Sign your child up for the grade level they will be entering in Fall. No transfers if parent

    enrolls child in wrong grade level.

    No cancellations or transfers permitted within 3 days of the first day of class (see cancel-lation policy on pg., 33). Note: The refund policy for Destination Science Camps statesthat requests received 30 or more days prior to the start of the enrolled camp session willbe refunded all fees minus a $40 processing fee. Transfers between sessions & locations arepermitted if space is available.

    Students must be under 18 to attend College for Youth Classes.

    Safety: Children under 13 not allowed on campus unattended or unsupervised.

    Be sure you and your children know where their classroom is located. Young children

    should not be dropped off in the parking lot.

    If your child is sick while on campus, you will be contacted immediately to pick up your child.

    Please call the Community Education office at (408) 852-2801 to report absences. You will

    not be contacted if your child is absent.

    Please arrange for your child to be picked up immediately after class at the classroom door.

    Behavior: Students are not allowed to attend classes in which they are not officially enrolled.

    Students must be able to follow directions independently or in a group. If a student is

    disruptive to the learning process he or she may be dropped from his/her class withoutrefund.

    Robots vs. Aliens (Ages 5-11)Calling all robot inventors! If you think robotsare cool join us this summer and build tworobots. You will work on your very own TeamUSA robot, preparing it for the Robo Parade,the Robot Grand Prix Raceway, and the TeamUSA Battlebot Rally. As a true inventor, yourrobot design is up to you. Will it be a friendlyFuzzy Robot Pet or Demolition Survivor

    Bot? Your morning will include: techno funwith electric lightning you can touch, supersonic sound, and more. After lunch, wellhave an alien encounter with a futuristic robotinvasion, building our own Alien Robot.     Vet Detective (Ages 8-12)

    Put on your sleuthing hat and join us for ahalf-day of adventurous activities as a bonafide Vet Detective! You will get to compareyour vital signs to various animals, partici-pate in a rumination project where you willcompare digestive systems of animals and youwill investigate how the disease brucellosisspreads among different herds of elk. Handson activities will lead you to an understand-

    ing of animal physiology, animal digestion,how to sample populations and determiningcauses of disease in animals. This class meetsthe National Science Standards. The curricu-lum won the 2002 Parents Choice ApprovedAward.Kelly Childers has a degree in Biologyand worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a
