PROGRAMS
BJS identifies National Issues, creates practical solutions based on
experiences and then converts them into workable modules. These
modules are then implemented in the home ground successfully. After
analysing the results of the pilot run, the modules are taken across the
country for implementation. This has been the tried and tested method of
working. This kind of approach has been the Unique Performance
Proposition of this organisation for two and a half decades now.
Jain Janaganana
Information on family background of the Jain Community was collected in
2004 to 2005 using predefined schedule in Maharashtra state. Received
20590 completed forms from different parts of Maharashtra. Information
on Age, Sex, Blood group, Education (Indian degree/ foreign degree),
Occupation/employment, and participation in social/religious activities

and union territories have a child sex ratio below 850 female per 1000
male among Jains. Among the major states having large Jain
population sex ratio in the age group 0-6 is low at 832 in Gujarat and
878 in Rajasthan.
The proportion of growth rate declined to 0.4% in the years 1991 and
2001 i.e. 20% decline.
Jains had average 1.5 children per women, which was lowest among
all other Indian religious communities.
The literacy rate among the Jains was the highest at 94.1 percent.
As compared to all religion the female work participation is lowest
among Jains. It is noted as 9.2 percent only.
