Moderation – GCSE, AS and A-level
• Visiting moderation for performance assessment
• Moderation by post for performance analysis assessment
• Expect performances to be repeatable, ie expect performances at
moderation to justify marks awarded
• Audio-visual evidence has to be made for any assessment/activity that
cannot be replicated at live moderation
• Schools/colleges have to make audio-visual recording of the moderation
visit
• This is so that schools/colleges can challenge the outcome of moderation
• Will not know the outcome of moderation until results day

Unit 2: Coaching & Officiating or Organising
The focus of this unit is practical performance in coaching and officiating or coaching and organising. The coaching category is marked out of 40 • Planning 10 marks • Performance 25 marks • Analysis And Evaluation 5 marks Officiating and Organising are both marked out of 20 • Planning 5 Marks • Performance 10 Marks • Analysis And Evaluation 5 Marks
Unit 3: The Sports Industry
Externally assessed exam covering the following
topics:
• Health, physical fitness and safety
• Contemporary issues in sport
• Local & national organisations
• Careers in physical activity and sport
Structure:
• 1 hr 30m duration with total of 80 marks
• Questions set in vocational context with use
of familiar language
• Variety of questions styles including MCQs,
