ArtandDesign TheschemeofassessmentinArtandDesignrequirescandidatestosubmit: Unit1: CorePortfolio 60% Unit2:Workingtoastimulus 40% Coursework Unit1: CorePortfolio ThePortfolioismadeupfromeditedworkshowingthebreadthanddepthofarangeofexperiencesusingdifferentmediaandmaterials. IntheirPortfoliocandidatesshouldincludeonetaskthatisfullyrealized.Thereshouldalsobeevidenceofabroadandcreativerangeofexperiencesinboth2and3dimensionsinfineart,craftanddesign. ExternallySetAssignment Unit2: Workingtoastimulus Candidatesareexpectedtoproduceafinishedpieceofworkinresponsetoeitherasetthemeoragivenquestion.ThepaperisdistributedinJanuaryallowingforapreparatoryperiod.Asupervisedtimeof10hoursisgiveninwhichtoproducethefinaloutcome.Pupilsarepreparedforthisbyworkingontheportfoliooverthetwoyears.Duringthecoursetheywillbeintroducedtoabroadrangeofmaterials,mediaandprocesseswhichmayincludedrawing(pencil,pastels,inks);painting;variousformsofprinting(screen,mono);lensbasedmediaincludingphotography;filmandanimation;ceramics;textilesincludingembroidery;batikandfelting;modelingwithwire/papermache/card/plasterandcomputeraideddesign.
