Summer Vacations are round the corner and spells fun, frolic & ice creams for around a month. While fun is intrinsic

to their age, constructive activities and fruitful occupation of their time is of vital importance. It paves the way

towards a bright future for the child and a progressive learning graph.

We are giving a short assignment for the vacation. We have tried to make the work enjoyable keeping in mind their

interest. Space out the work & the child will enjoy doing it. The work should be done in a well decorated scarp book

and submitted on the 3rd of July, 2017.

Excitement is to be gained by the viewers for sure.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a domestic, annual Twenty 20 cricket league. It started its journey in the year 2007 and completed its 10th year in 2018 with Mumbai Indians (MI) as the champions. The league was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), however Lalit Modi, the founder and former commissioner was the brainchild behind it in 2007.

Conduct a research work on the history of IPL, gather information and complete the following data sheet in your scrap book;

• In which year did the IPL start?

• Why was ICL (Indian Cricket League) in 2007 converted into IPL?

• How many Teams participated in IPL 2008?

• Name the owners of the teams?

• Which two new franchises joined before the fourth season in 2011?

As we already know about the teams participating in the IPL(for example: Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad , Gujarat Lions, Deccan Chargers….etc. there are other big teams as well. You have to find out the city, the State of each team and the name of their home ground stadiums and locate that on an outline map of India with the colours of respective teams. (Paste the map in the scrap book.)
