NGC’s MLX-Series is engineered to address all of these challenges, and deliver reliable operation in a compact, lightweight package that’s easy to install and maintain.

NGC’s MLX-Series for Vertical Roller Mills (VRM) feature a unique combination of strength, reliability and durability not available in standard mill drives. Designed to accommodate all different mill types, the MLX-Series is available in two-stage, three-stage and three-stage, double-planetary configurations with power ratings of up to 8,000kW. With thousands of installations around the world, the MLX-Series is proven to perform.

Klingelnberg design bevel gears, made from high-quality, case-hardened alloy steel and finished to DIN3995, provide smooth and reliable operation with high load capacity.

Designed to optimize strength, efficiency and noise characteristics, NGC’s cylindrical gears are made from high-quality, case-hardened alloy steel in accordance with ISO1328.

Made from high-quality alloy steel and finished to ISO1328, the MLX-Series planetary gears utilize proprietary tooth geometry to increase load capacity. The sun pinion and planet gears are case-hardened and ground, and the ring gear is through-hardened and ground.

All MLX-Series housings are fabricated from high-quality steel to provide strength, stiffness and reliability. Critical seams are UT tested and ANSYS software is used to carry out Finite Element Analysis (FEM) to optimize performance and fatigue lifetime.

All MLX-Series gearboxes use Tier-1 bearings from globally recognized suppliers. Bearing lifetime calculations are according to ISO281/16281.

The thrust pads in all MLX-Series gearboxes feature NGC’s patented design technology and high-performance composite material surfaces to ensure high load capacity and maximum wear resistance.

The MLX-Series has been designed to allow for rapid customization to meet specific customer needs. Optional cooling, lubrication and condition monitoring systems are available from the factory, or NGC can retrofit to work with existing systems.
