• Students will sit in on interactive presentations from these professionals, and also participate in many Hands On activities. The students will also have the opportunity to visit Artists Alley and shop in our Exhibitors Room, where they can purchase unique gifts and collectibles

• A computer is a programmable device that carries out/performs a sequence.– You give the command, and the computer does

the work for you.

The Very First Computers

• Zuse Z3– Designed by Konrad Zuse– Considered the world’s first computer– Completed in Berlin in 1941, but destroyed in

1943 during the Berlin bombing– 2,000 relays, implementing a 22 bit word length

that operated at a clock frequency of about 5–10 Hz. Program code and data were stored on punched film.
