Developing sustainable and competitive bio-based
industries in Europe, based on advanced biorefineries
that source their biomass sustainably by:
• Demonstrating new technologies to fill the gap in
value chains;
• Developing business models integrating all economic
actors along the value chain
• Set-up flagship biorefinery plants deploying business
models & technologies to keep investment in EU

viability of a new or improved technology, process, product
or service or value chain in relevant (TRL 6) or operational

biorefinery concepts for underexploited areas (D4),
BB polymers/plastic materials with new functionalities (D5)…
Shall address the whole value chain, from feedstock sourcing to

Objective: deployment of a demonstrated technology leading
to a system, which is complete and qualified (TRL8) for
